Adventures in Moving – or how Mommy and Daddy tortured us!!!
Wednesday July 8th – Daddy is here today – hmmm he does not come during the week…
Thursday July 9th – Mommy & Daddy put all of the kitty carriers in the living room. This cannot be good. If I could count I would have known there are 7 carriers & 7 of us kitties! Mommy’s plan to trap us all in the front of the house fails & we scatter when we figure out something very very evil is up! The first to get trapped is Shadow & he did not put up a fight the silly boy! Then Casper & even he did not put up much of a fight! Third & forth were the kittens & boy did they fight Mommy when she tried to put them in the carriers! Then Mommy & Daddy got me trapped in the living room & dining room. Daddy is saying that I hissed at him & Mommy asked him what he thought I would do to her. See Daddy was a little afraid of being scratched for some reason - like we would scratch?? Ok, so maybe we would when put in a carrier. Well, I say if they were not being evil & trying to stick us all in carriers… He held the carriers up for Mommy to deposit us in our carriers. I tried my best to hide underneath the big rocking chair but it did not work & yes I hissed at Mommy! I finally got caught by the dining room doors & I put up the best tabby fight I could but I still ended up in the carrier! Mommy put my stuffed squirrels in with me hoping they would help comfort me just a little. They didn’t! I did not want to be in that carrier on little bit! And she made sure I had the biggest carrier too hoping that would help a little – it didn’t. Then Mommy & Daddy got Rosie & Teddy trapped in the bedroom. She got on the floor bad knees & all & managed to finally grab Teddy who put up a good fight! It was all she could do to keep a hold of him & she got him in a carrier to. Daddy sat his carrier on the bed & Mommy thinks he was trying to shred the sheets after that! Tabby – tude!!! Then the last to fall was Rosie who was hiding under the bed. Mommy had to poke a little for her to come out. She was not happy at all when she did get out & had a tail at full bush! Mommy grabbed her once & she was fighting very hard & escaped. Mommy grabbed her a second time & did not let go. She fought & fought but Mommy got her in her carrier! When the carrier door was shut & Daddy was holding it - it shook & shook! Daddy said she was like a little Tasmanian Devil!! So she has earned a new nickname befitting a tabby – Taz!
Finally we are trapped! Mommy & Daddy take a break for a few minutes before starting to load us into the car. Daddy had Shadow, Lucy & Daisy in his car. Mommy had me, Rosie, Casper & Teddy in hers. The Mommy & Daddy started driving & they got on what they call the interstate – which Mommy has not driven on in at least 10 years! We told Mommy off for about 45 minutes! Mommy said it was probably good she could not understand what we were saying! Well except me I just stayed still at the back of my carrier did not move or say anything my head on one of my squirrels & looking traumatized. After 45 minutes they got off the interstate & stopped to take a break & get a drink. We quieted down some then. Mommy asked about the kitties in his car & they had nut made any noise at all so far! And they set off again taking a route in the country & we did not make as much noise then. But, every once in a while we let Mommy know we still were not happy!
Then Mommy and Daddy stopped. They took us all inside of this strange house. When we were all in Mommy opened the carrier doors. Teddy got out right away & pushed Teddy out of his carrier as he wanted the carrier with the sherpa pad. Mommy & Daddy went to eat at Grandma & Papaw’s then came back later with a bunch of strangers! I was still in my carrier looking traumatized! I had not moved any! The rest were out of their carriers & hiding. The kittens were huddled together for comfort. Mommy worried as no one could find Rosie at all! Eventually the strangers left. And later Mommy went to bed – still worried about me & Rosie. I still had not moved at all! And she still could not find Rosie!
Mommy was sleeping on an air mattress & had just laid down when she heard a noise behind her head – kitten hissing! Lucy was hissing at Casper and he was growling. She says it was a long night as there was a lot of hissing among the kitties who were out. Even the kittens who had earlier been huddled together for comfort were hissing at each other! About midnight she woke up and I was on the air mattress. But, one of the kittens hissed at me and I ran and hid in the kitchen. By now Mommy figured out most of us were hiding in the lower kitchen cabinet. When I finally came out of the carrier I had been in there almost 12 hours without moving a fur!
Friday July 10th -
But, the next morning she still had not found Rosie! She washed her in the sink as the shower was not fixed yet. And she sat down by the bar to brush her hair in the kitchen & for some reason opened the cabinet door next to her & there was ROSIE!!! Mommy was so happy to see her she cried! She shut the door & let Rosie come out in her own time.
Friday Mommy left us alone in the new house!
Saturday July 11th –
About noon Mommy & Daddy came back. When they came in we all hid. They had a couple of men with them moving in boxes & furniture. She sat by the door keeping an eye out for any of us trying to get out but we were hiding. At one point the on cabinet door opened a little and she looked & it was Shadow’s butt opening it & told him to stay in there. After the men left Mommy checked the lower cabinet and found 6 of us in the cabinet! But, no sign of Casper! Before Daddy left to get food for them Mommy had Daddy put a couple wreaths on a box that had been sitting on the bar. After Daddy left for the food Mommy kept hearing a noise & could not figure out where it was coming from. After a while Casper sticks his head out of the box the wreaths were on!
Sunday July 12th -
Mommy has figured out that for some reason I would not go into the living room! I stayed in the kitchen. At first Mommy thought I was scared of the laminate flooring. She got a runner type run & tried to coax me out. But, every once in a while I would get a couple feet into the living room and run skittering back to the kitchen!
Monday July 13th –
The other kitties are slowly adjusting to the new home. But, me I am still in the kitchen. Mommy is still trying to coax me out with no luck.
Tuesday July 14th –
Mommy finally figures out what is preventing me from going into the living room! She saw me take a few tentative steps into the living room look at the ceiling fan going round and round and I ran back into the kitchen. So she turned the ceiling fan off. A little while later I started to venture out into the living room and Mommy was trying to encourage me but I ran back again. Mommy laid down for a nap around noon and she woke up to find me beside the bed! She was happy to see me out on the floor! She did not say anything but just let me wander. And I have been out and about ever since!
We are adjusting to the new house but there are human strangers in and out more now. Mommy says we have to get used to them as they are our family. And Mommy has figured the Mommy to kitty ratio when sleeping on a twin size bed. It is one Mommy and four kitties!

My friend, Mittens, tagged me for Thanksgiving! She said to add a diary entry naming 5 things I'm thankful for and then tag 5 cats. Send a pmail to each of them to tell them they've been tagged.
What I'm thankful for:
1. Mommy giving me a home & being patient with me
2. My stuffed squirrels Mommy got for me
3. Rosie, Teddy, Shadow & even Casper
4. Catnip
5. A warm place to sleep
I know I am supposed to tag 5 kitties but Mommy says she is trying to do too many things right now. Sorry

Mommy does not understand what gets into me once in a while. Like this morning Rosie was minding her own business & I just had to bite her on the back of the neck. Mommy scolded me and reluctantly I let go of Rosie. Then Rosie had the nerve to turn around and smack me with her paw. I do not see what her problem is. Good grief! I am just being me.

It has been a while since I managed to get Mommy to write anything. Sometimes it is not easy being the older brother when the younger ones won't listen & are just brats at times. Teddy is cute, there is no doubt about it. But, he is an imp as Mommy calls him. He likes to attack tails that is for sure. And just when I want to snuggle in bed at night with Mommy - Casper has beat me to it. Sigh...

Hi Everyone,
My siblings & I put on a show for Mommy and Steven yesterday morning. All four of us played and looked so kittenish-cute & adorable. Even Rosie got into the act & she really does not play often. Later yesterday Mommy got out a paper bag that she had & opened it up & put it on the floor. It was so fun to play in. All four of us took turns playing in it. Now all I have to do is get Mommy get rescue all those poor wreath balls from under the love seat so she can toss them for me to chase. *hint* hint*

I have not gotten Mommy to write for me for a while. Life is definitely not quiet since the Little Troublemakers (Teddy & Casper) moved in. Though you can hardly call Casper little – he is as big as I am – if not bigger. And now the vet told Mommy that Teddy is going to be a big boy too. Yikes!!! I have been trying to teach then the way things go around here but they rarely listen to me, the pipsqueaks. Casper needs to learn to leave the Queen alone – but evidently he is a slow learner. She hisses at him when he invades her territory. I have tried to tell him, but will he listen??? NO!
And that Teddy is just so ornery. Mommy uses the water bottle on him a lot. He likes to attack her feet. And that is a no-no, but again he won’t listen. But, Mommy says he is cute and still has a little baby butt. I just want to roll my eyes and gag. Wait until he is as big as Casper if not bigger. We will see if she things he is cute then.
But, despite the Little Troublemakers and the Queen Mommy tells me all of the time she loves me very much. And after all I was the first kitty she ever picked out.
Mommy was also delighted that we were mentioned in another diary. It made her day!!!

Ok, do not get me wrong I do love Casper. Even Rosie does not hiss at him much any more. I like playing with him most of the time. It is fun chasing him back and forth. But, he does get pretty rough at times. And he likes to bite. Mommy says enough is enough when I start to squeal. We even nap together a lot. We like napping side by side on the sofa when Mommy is watching TV at night. We even curled up together on the computer desk the other night when Mommy was using the computer and she said we were too cute. I have been good too with the Christmas tree. We do not mess with it much. Every once in a while we knock off a bulb and push it around the floor. But, Mommy got the non-breakable type so she does nto say much when we do that. Hope everykitty is having a good holiday season and getting lots of treats.

Well, the little monster - er brother is settling in. Ok ok so Mommy did catch us sleeping side by side last night and thought we were soooo cute. Well, I am cute -- not sure about that white thing called Casper. He is crazy at times. He likes to watch the water in the shower when Mommy is in there. I am tempted at times when he is on the tub to just push him in MOL -- but, I don't. He growls when he plays with his furry mice and Rosie & I stay away. I try to tell Rosie though that he is not that bad but she still is not convinced. It was nice this morning as they were both asleep and I had some "Mommy n' me" time. I love that. She rubbed my head for a long time even though she said it was early.

Hi --
Well, Capser does not seem so bad as he did at first. Mommy tried to tell me yesterday that he was trying ot play with me and he wasn't being mean. I will wait to reserve my judgement. Rosie is warming up slowly to him. Mommy is worried about her as she looks so sad. Rosie has always been a little more reserved than I was. Mommy has been trying to pay extra attention to her when she will come around.
What I think is funny is that when Mommy went to the shelter last year to adopt Rosie and me she went to get two little girls. Well, she did think I was a girl and the shelter thought I was a girl -- my name was Daisy back then -- how embarassing! It was only when she took me to that mean and nasty vet that she found out the truth about me. And look at her now she has two boys! Snicker... That Mommy of mine is such a sucker! I better run I think I hear her coming.
