Pet-Peeves: water, loud noises, unfamiliar people, other cats, being forced to leave a comfy spot, her cat carrier/the vet
Favorite Toy: wand with long tail of fake fur tipped with feathers -- even at 15, this toy can get her going! (at least for a minute or two) - also, the sushi-shaped catnip toys, whoo boy!
Favorite Nap Spot: my lap; my bed; perch at the top of the kitty tower; on the couch right next to my computer desk; under my bed on the cat mat next to the heating vent (when it's cold)
Favorite Food: no more Fancy Feast because of her kidneys, alas! Hills Mature Active Longevity chicken flavor is, however, acceptable.
Skills: being manipulative ^_^ and making everyone who sees her coo "how cuuute!" -- also flirting with me via eye blinking, nipping me to get my attention; special skill: hogging the bed
Arrival Story: Flame came to my family as a tiny kitten of 8 weeks, when I was just a kid myself. She was a Christmas present from one of my aunts to my grandmother, who we lived with at the time. Flame and I were BFF from day one. I like to say she is my kitty soulmate, that's how well we understand each other. Grandma jokingly told me a few years later "She's your Valentine's Day present from me." Flame's been with me through the trials of high school, getting into college, my grandmother's death and having to move, graduating and getting a full-time job, and moving out on my own. She is my baby... I like to tell my mom that Flame is her grandchild, or at least, the only one she'll have from me for a while. She's my buddy. Even though she hogs the bed I don't regret letting her sleep with me at night, except in the early morning when she stands on me to wake me up and nips at my arm because she thinks I should get up and feed her. :P
Bio: My baby is still going strong at the advanced age of 16. She has to take a couple different medicines each day for her thyroid and blood pressure, and yeah... a special diet to keep her kidneys from getting any worse. She may be starting to look her age a bit, too, and be a little arthritic. However, until she stops getting up on the kitchen table to attack innocent bread products or trying to steal the food right off my plate in front of me, I won't worry *too* much. It's sad because now she can be as naughty as she likes and I just think how cute it is! (as though I haven't always been completely under her nonexistent thumb) She does NOT like the little kids (Gus & El) AT ALL, sadly for poor Gus who is madly in love with her and gets his ears boxed whenever he is too persistent. I keep her separate from them most of the time so they don't disturb her, but I harbor hopes that Gus might win her over as he did Electra.
