My momma says I am "special" not "special needs"!

My mommy says that I have something called "cerebellar hyperplasia", those are sure long words for a cat! I don't know what that means but I suspect it has something to do with all of the walls that I bounce off of each day. My mommy used to cry and run and grab me and kiss all over my face (yuck!) when this happens...well she still grabs me and kisses all over my face (yuck! and double yuck!) but at least she has learned to laugh at me. Once, one of these other stupid cats made a loud noise and it scared me so bad I jumped straight up in the air....one minute I was on top of the bed and the next minute I was in the floor and I hit something hard on the way down...I had to sit there a minute because I think I seen stars...I looked up and here she come..."oh pie pie (that is what my mom calls me), are you okay...blah blah blah and kiss, kiss, kiss) I wish she would figure out that the kissing hurts alot more than the stuff I hit. Anyway, when mom seen I was okay, her and dad started laughing so hard they couldn't stand it...mom says you have to laugh to keep from crying. Apparently, according to mom telling dad what happen ( I was eavesdropping) she said I jumped up into the air and hit the dresser on the way down...it didn't hurt me at all, just scared me to death especially when she screams and she always does...humph!!! MOMS! All I wanted to do is get this kissing junk over with and climb back up in mom's spot in the bed and go to sleep. Guess what? That is exactly what I done...my head kind of hurt so I had to get my "beauty sleep"..don't know what the is either but that is what mom tells us when we go to sleep. Mom gets on my nerves with all that kissing and hugging, but I sure love her anyway..oh yeah and she really needs to know that I hate my belly touched...I wish I could tell her to stop!

The day to day struggles of the Sweetest cat in the world

My name is Sweetie, which suits me to a tee. My dad didn't want me named such a foo foo name, but because it was short for Sweetness (Walter Peyton's nickname), he finally decided it was acceptable. From the first moment my momma seen me, she knew there was something wrong with me. I remember I had to take this long ride and this man came in and looked at my legs. My momma was very upset, but I couldn't understand it. Finally when I started walking, I felt sort of dizzy, and I kept running into things. At first my mom would come running and pick me up and say "are you alright". Of course I was alright, I am a cat and I am tough! Humph! Anyway, I have heard momma tell daddy about my disease called "cerebellum hyperplasia". This disease affects the part of the brain which would normally tell me to stop, but it doesn't work properally. I end up running into a lot of walls and falling into my water bowl alot. My balance seems to have improved, but I stil make lots of funny moves and I am scared of my own shadow. The doctor says I will lead a normal life, but just a little different life. I cannot jump on the sink and cabinet like my brothers, but my mom lifts me up so that I can check everything out, just like they do. I love my mom. I follow her everywhere she goes and I love waiting on her in the mornings. I run as fast and as crooked as I can go and jump in the bed, so she can love me before she leaves. I may be different, but I had my momma's heart from the 1st day she saw me.
