Meme madness (who could have predicted that a little meme would spread like wildfire all over Catsterland?), a shiny new Star (thanks Milagrito!), and my 2nd Catster anniversary; it's enough to make a kitty dizzy. Snort.

Mom: while the Kazoomster is getting herself undizzy, I just want to quickly comment on random fact #7 from her meme. It's true that KJ has only slept on my chest once, but it's a memory I'll treasure always. It happened after Kitty Kazoo returned from getting spayed (it was her first time away from home—a vet had come to the house before that for other procedures), and not surprisingly she'd been scared the whole time. I like to think that on her first night home she realized that she was not going to get abandoned ever again, and that she had a mom for life. So instead of sleeping at the foot of my bed like she had done each night before, KJ climbed onto my chest and for one night made both of us purr.

Thank you, Kitty Kazoo, for picking me to become your mom. It's been a privilege.

KJ: And a great big THANK YOU to my Catster friends for making the last two years so much fun!

An All About Me Meme

My friend, the intrepid reporter Mr. Bogdan, tagged me for a meme over a week ago, and here it finally is.

The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

1) I'm easily distracted. Proof? I didn't get around to doing this meme right away.
2) I used to hop like a bunny rabbit, but backwards, whenever I got really startled. Am happy to report that I haven't been startled for a long time.
3) I get fed dry food for breakfast and wet for dinner—never the other way around. No matter how much I try to convince mom that breaking out of a routine is a good thing.
4) Whenever I play "Birdie Hiding Beneath the Carpet" with mom I pretend the feathers she's waving are a real bird, because a) she likes that, and b) being human she's totally gullible and actually believes I think it IS a real bird.
5) The base of my tail quivers like crazy whenever I get very excited. When does mom get to see this momentous event? Only when I'm positively sure I'm getting breakfast.
6) I sleep on mom's bed every night. No other spot, no other person. I'm exclusive that way. ;)
7) I slept on my mom's chest once. But only once. That was after my stay at the you-know-where to get you-know-what. I purred as loud as I could and snuggled right by her heart to show her I knew now that she was my forever mom and that we'd be together for life. She understood right away so I didn't have to demonstrate the message again. Much to her dismay.

Okay, I tag the following kitties on Catster:

1. Scootie
2. Milagrito
3. Luke
4. Paula
5. Toffy
6. Louis
7. Gussy

Lousy Weather Over At Last

Have been meaning to write, but now that spring has finally arrived properly, mom just seems to want to go outside! At least she removed the weather stripping from the windows today, opened them up, and whoosh—let all the fresh air in. Apparently my sniffing apparatus started working overtime immediately, but who can blame me? :)

Hope everyone enjoyed Earth Day today!

And because I don't have anything prepared, I'm going to blatantly abuse my position of power as mom's absolute favourite kitty in the whole wide world, snort, and simply link to her blog. There you can see chickies, bunnies, and, um, some not so Easter-like weather. Have a good one everyone!!

Spring Has Sprung!

It was raining cats and dogs this morning (who came up with that silly expression anyway?), so mom made some chicken noodle soup to help combat the rainy day blues. I WAS going to write about that awful food recall incident today, but mom said the weather was depressing enough so asked me to write about the pretty flowers instead. (I'll write about the food recall some other time.) Look! Look at the pretty flower Rosettes Catster provided for us! Thank you to every kitty who left one on my page, and now I'm going to hand out a few of my own. Woo-heeeeee!

"Beware of people who dislike cats." —IRISH PROVERB

Ain't that the truth! Mom says she would never befriend anyone who didn't like cats, and would probably never begin a relationship with someone who didn't absolutely adore them! Sounds like a good approach if you ask me.

Okay, one more:

"It is not a fish until it is on the bank." —IRISH PROVERB

Hmmm, what's this about fish? :)

As your sister Basil will confirm, you're in excellent hands now, and will be taken care of by the sweetest Mama and Papa EVER. Am looking forward to hearing more about you.

love and purrs,
Kitty Kazoo

A New Toy!

Well, not really, but let me explain. Mom was eating peanuts the other night (the shelled kind), when she dropped one of the empty round shells on the kitchen floor without realizing it. A bit later she hears a funny noise and finds me batting it all around! It was nice and light and I liked the sound it made. Mom was so impressed with my skills that she said that with a bit of practise I'd make a fine hockey player one day. Snort. C'mon on mom, I'm a cat! Really, sometimes I think she forgets that. But at least she was good enough to help me retrieve the little puck from beneath the stove. :)

Hey, did you see the cool (yet kinda spooky) black kitty in my anonymous Rosette?! Now where did he (she?) come from? Are they part of another mystery making the Catster rounds?
