Favorite Toy:
Parent's feet, hands, mouse toys, "feather duster," her babies (cat stuffed animals), milk rings

Favorite Nap Spot:
On mommy's or daddy's lap, beanbag chair, behind the lounge chair

Favorite Food:
Cat-chow and chow mein noddles (or as daddy calls them "kitty crunchies")

Defying gravity....she thinks she can walk on the walls. She also likes to play tag. She'll ran at you, tag your leg and run away for you to run after her.

Arrival Story:
My office is in a community where it was converted from factory to office space. A stray cat, which I assume was once someone's pet since it was so friendly, took refuge in an auto parts warehouse. The mother had a litter before but the kittens were already claimed. My coworker saw the mother cat again....VERY pregnant. So I inquired to the owers of the warehouse and they told me that the mother cat had 6 kittens: 3 tabbies, 2 black and one orange. I had been bugging my husband for 2 years to allow me to get a kitten. When I told him that only one was left he finally broke down and let me get one. I picked the runt of the litter and boy was she hard to catch! There were car bumpers everywhere and so many hiding places. Basically it was an ideal place for kittens to play. Once I finally got her, I put her in her cat carrier and brought her home. She was really timid at first and now she has grown to love us. She crys when we are not paying enough attention to her! She's very spoiled!

Some of you may wonder how Mr. Purrs got her name since she isn't a Mister. My husband has had a habit of naming all my pets Mr. ____. For instance, I have a frog named Mr. Springs and fish named Mr. Fins. He also likes to name the outside wild animals (We have Mr. Burrows the groundhog who lives under our front porch). So when I asked him what we should name the kitten he said "Mr. Purrs" and I asked "what if it's a female?" He said "that doesn't matter, it's still Mr. Purrs." So when I brought the kitten home, I found out it was a girl. I tried to fight the name, but my husband wouldn't budge. I figure that since he FINALLY let me get a kitten, that I will just let him name her.

Been a rough year

Last summer Mr. Purrs became very sick and kept vomiting up her food. We kept taking her to the vet and she kept getting sicker and sicker to the point that they decided to do exploratory surgery and to also rule out any bowel diseases. While anesthetizing her, they found a tumor on the back of her tongue - luckily it was benign! We found out that she has some sort of allergy issue as this summer it became back again. She now has to be put on special low allergen food and has her chart flagged to give her Benedryl shots when she gets her boosters. We are not exactly sure what she is allergic to, but we are taking all precautions. She is very special to us and we will do what we need to keep her as healthy as we can!

Near disaster

So we had Mr. Purrs outside on her leash and my husband let her back inside without taking off her leash. I didn't realize that he had done this. We were sitting outside talking with the neighbor when we heard a loud banging noise inside. We run inside and find one of our computer chairs at the bottom of the steps. Seems that Mr. Purrs got her leash caught around the leg of the chair and drug it down the steps. Can you imagine what she was thinking seeing a chair chasing after her? So we try to pry her out from under the futon and she's freaking out and hissing at us. I wasn't too happy with my husband, but now that we look back at it, it was kind of funny. She didn't get hurt, but it took her a little while to get use to the computer chair again!

Happy 1st Birthday

Mr. Purrs' birthday is the 28th, but we celebrated early. I made her a little birthday hat (which she loved haha j/k) and put her picture up as you can see. We also got her a little window perch and put it in the computer room since she spends so much time in that window. She was a little unsure about it at first and now loves it. I have seen her sleeping on it numerous times. It's hard to believe that our little baby is 1 year old.
