Arrival Story:
After my beloved Torrie (whom I had for 15 years) died of cancer I spent six months grieving for her. Finally I knew it was time for a new cat, and this one was going to be black. Why? Black animals are hard for rescues to adopt out, especially black cats. I went down to CAT (Cat Association of Topeka) and the had three black boys available. However, two of them were brothers and I couldn't split them apart. The other was a cat called "Goober" by the staff. A very big spayed male cat. He'd been adopted out before as a kitten with his brothers, but was brought back in by the husband because he "wouldn't follow orders". (umm, I'm not too sure he knew how cats work). They said his real name was Gabriel. I took Gabriel home, and we bonded. I take him everywhere I go, and we are companions in everything.
