Arrival Story: In March 2013 I euthanized my cat Houdini (aka Mr Kitty); thus ended the longest relationship I ever had with a mammal. After mourning, I set about to fill the open "Mr Kitty" spot in our house to go with Miss Kitty. I spotted Dexter on Petfinder and thought "hey, he looks like a nice cat and he's named after one of our favorite shows - I should get off my lazy duff and go to the Humane Society and check him out."
Lo and behold, his "adoption station" turned out to be our local Petco. I had stopped in when I knew a shelter volunteer would be present. I almost adopted another cat, but sensed he would be a little too much for Miss Boo, who is 12 years old. "This is a nice cat too" the volunteer said. And she was right. I finally read his info..."WOW, that's Dexter! It must be fate!"
Dexter has proven to be a worthy of the "Mr Kitty" title in our home. Rambunctious yet polite - he has so far been the perfect cat for us.
Bio: Listed as a stray with no ID by the Human Society, Dexter was not fixed when he entered "the system". He is so friendly and well socialized, my theory is that he had well meaning owners that allowed him to go outside - and he wandered away. He must of known there were greener pastures out there as he's ended up in a household with people willing to make home made raw cat food with a MANUAL GRINDER.
