So we just learned the glorious news! The problem is that mom's been living under a rock, or something like that. She has been working 16-17 hr days for the last 2 1/2 weeks and it's not going to stop until after March 12. We had written in our diaries about going on "hiatus" but then the horrible announcement came and she let us be here as much as possible until it got too overwhelming for her. I say: HISSES--WHERE'S MY MOM!?!? I totally missed Valentine's Day, but then Mom didn't even get to see Dad so I can't feel too bad right? We are sooooo happy that Catster isn't shutting down. But, was are also cautious as any good kitty would be...they didn't give us much additional info did they? Paws crossed for the best. But one thing is very true--we rallied. We, my Catster family, rallied for what is right--our loving community with grand spirit and pride.

So momma went to the hooman pharmacy today to pick up my inhaler, which is where it has to come from. There's always a strange conversation, every new person wants to know "how do you get a cat to take an inhaler?" etc,. etc.,. it never seems to get old. Anyway, here was momma's conversation today:
(pronounced like the skinny actress, mom usually just says
yes these days.)
“What’s your address?”
“Yes, because it’s a cat and doesn’t have a date of birth.”
“She does have a date of birth--actually.”
“Oh! I see that 2-27-99! Wow she’s getting up there!”
(really mom, you didn’t smacky-paw her? Great “verification” btw)
“Yes. I can’t believe she’ll be 15 next month.”
(really mom? who’s side you on?)
“Time flies. Is that her on your credit card?”
“Yep, I spend most of my money on her, figured she might as well be on the card.”
(MOL, ok I like that.)
...sigh. Starting to wonder if any furiends will still be around by then, just days before “the date.” Mom and I don't like seeing the diaries that say “final diary” and such. We’re gonna stick around til the end.

We are so sad about Catster and Dogster going away... It feels like the death of a close friend. It has been so wonderful here, we've had such a great time with our furiends here... Not sure what to do with this loss...

So suddenly without any warning to ME mom had to stop letting me play on Catster for a few weeks. She's a grad student and a teacher, so the end of any semester is CRAZY, CRAZY. CRAZY. Unfortunately, until her thesis is over in the Spring, we won't be around as much as we would like. *hisses I say!* I don't really know what a thesis is, none of us do, we've discussed it, and we agree it sounds like something that should go in the litter.
We hope our furiends forgive us for any misses and lapses in attention in the last few weeks and in the next few months. We really do care about our Catster furiends.
On the bright side, mom gets to work at home for a couple of weeks now--more time with her! YEAH! And she sleeps in a little bit so I can walk all over her more! Oh the biscuits I will make on her this season!
So yesterday was the Rainbow Bridge of my dear bro-fur Fig. I miss him. He was such a good bro-fur. I loved playing with him, grooming him, sleeping next to him... He went to the bridge and then I got new bro-furs. What's up with that? Did mom think she could replace him? Well, it's just not possible. I did kind of bond with Loudon, but...well his Rainbow bridge Day is tomorrow. I only knew him for a few months. I kind of gave up getting to know the rest of them at that point. I guess Stash and I have something in common in that--missing our bro-furs. I know mom wondered why it always had to be right before Christmas. Tuffy also crossed around that time, she was a child and doesn't remember the date, but it was the first snow of the season, and before Christmas. But, then dad proposed to her on Fig's Rainbow bridge Day, so now there is some happiness too. What a mixed blessing this season is.
Well, sending HUGE PURRS to all of our furiends for a blessed season! Be safe, watch out for that nip, it'll catch up with you in that nogg.

So my canine brofur Jack just started his diary and got Dogster's DOTD on his first try! I'm kind of proud of the little guy.
And I can attest to the fact that he did run into us cats with that awful cone of shame around his neck. MOL! And you should have seen his little waddle. *snickers*

Wow, thanks diary deity for finding favor with me again!
Now I'm wondering how I can possibly live up to my honors. So, I thought I'd share some wisdom by sharing my favorite proverbs:
"You will always be lucky if you know how to make friends with strange cats." - Colonial proverb
"Happy is the home with at least one cat" - Italian Proverb
"I gave an order to a cat, and the cat gave it to its tail" - Chinese Proverb
Thanks to my pals who are still celebrating with me!!!!

Wow, my double honor day was such a surprise and so much fun. Thank you Caster for showering me with honors! Having my furiends celebrate with me was the best part. I'm such a lucky girl to have all you as furiends!
With my sudden surge in popularity, mom could hardly keep up with her secretarial duties. I told her we could hire her an assistant cat-secretary, but she insisted she could do it now that she has a new key-board. She did manage, but it took her long enough! MOL!
So many pawsome pals stopped by and celebrated with me. Thanks to you all for the gifties, pawmails, comments, photos and love you shared.

Do my eyes deceive me? Can I possibly be the Cat Of The Day AND a DDP all at once?!?!? Oh how fun! MOM, PLEASE spill soup on your electronics more often!

I spent half the day yesterday trying to not let mom find out I was a DDP, 'cause I really threw her under the bus when I wrote in my diary about her silly. *giggles* Poor mom ruined her keyboard and was all upset about it, and I went and profited off of her misery! MOL! I love her though, and she loves me, so I'm sure she would forgive me if she knew, and she would probably even be proud --but I don't want to rub it in.
It was fun yesterday, and I want to thank the diary-deity-that-be for choosing me. Also a big thanks to Gleek & family, Mac, Ivy, Jax & family for the gifties, and Smiley and Buddie for the fun pawmail. And thanks to my wonderfur friends who stopped by to comment on my diary.

so you know what my silly mom went and did... she spilled grandma's homemade turkey noodle soup all over her keyboard. Just dumped it right in there. Might as well have poured it in all the little cracks with a ladle... but enough with the visuals. Now she's mad at herself 'cause one of the shift keys, the arrows, the numbers and the delete key won't work. I for one, do not have much pity for her--what a waste of perfectly good soup! Here Czar is getting the Tuna popsicle for his birthday and I get nothing. Then, she goes and wastes the turkey soup. why couldn't she have split it on me? I would have GLADLY cleaned up.
