Arrival Story:
We went into the local pet shop to see our animal friends: Rojah, the red macaw, and Jax and Gus, the resident cats. The store has a back room that has all the adoptable animals in and we went in there to see the animals. In a cage were three white and black cats. I petted a sleeping one as I went by. They also had a cage of puppies for sale and after petting them, I noticed the once sleeping cat was no awake and looking around. I noticed this cat had bobcat tufts on its ears. Hmmm - wonder if it has fur between its pawpads - aka - kitty snowshoes. I asked to see one of the kittens. One kitten was eating, the other was in the litterbox, so they took out the kitten I'd petted when I first walked into the back room. The lady took him out and gave him to my husband, and the kitten immediately started purring. We turned the kitten over and saw that he indeed does have kitty snowshoes. I KNEW he wasn't your normal generic brand cat. Well, the kitty and my husband were married for the next 20 minutes. Soooo - I know when doors are opened for some reason. After talking up a storm for 15 minutes so we could get a new kitten, we ended up bringing "Cricket" home.
