Arrival Story: He was left abandoned at a house and badly cared for..my mother being the animal lover she is (like mother, like daughter) crawled into a window to get the poor thing.
I had been looking for a male kitten to make a good playmate for Zelda, but was dead set on getting a male Siamese like my late baby Gizmo. When she brought him over the next morning I was in love and took him in because I wouldn't think of sending him to a shelter to possibly get put to sleep, while I buy a cat that would have no problem finding a home.
The first week was ruff and stressful..
He was infested with fleas to the point that they were crawling in his eyes. I gave him a bath with the help of my boyfriend and that was a terrible experience, he cried and clawed me all over. I was able to front line him the next day and that took care of that problem.
Next problem was Zelda...
She hissed, growled, arched her back to the poor little guy.
I thought for sure she was going to kill him..I tried keeping them in separate rooms, but Ransom tried to rip the door off the hinges and cried the entire time if he was left alone.
After two long days I realized it wasn't possible and moved to supervised visits..they scared me, Ransom would run to Zelda wanting to play and she would slap him across the face. At one point I thought poor Ransom would need a new home as it woulnndt be fair for him to be attacked each day.
I had just got off the phone with my mother telling her that I thought he would half to go..when I walked into the bedroom to find Zelda and Ranson cuddled up, Zelda giving Ransom a much needed bath.
What a relief..I almost cried
