Arrival Story:
Isabella was a stray that I started feeding outside my apartment. She was so friendly and sweet I just knew that she had to have a home some where! As time passed, I noticed that her thick white coat became dirtier and dirtier and her little face was covered in scratches. I tried to find her home since clearly she had been abandoned. I found a home for her with a co-worker. All was settled until one evening she was laying on my lap on the back porch and she started kneading on my leg. That is when I noticed she was declawed. No wonder she all seemed so hungry. No wonder she seemed to be the loser in every fight. She had no way to hunt or defend herself! My co-worker could no longer take her since she was to be a barn cat. I been furiously looking for a new home. I already had three cats in a two cat limit apartment so I could not keep. Then it happened. I was leaving for work one hot summer morning and I saw Bella on my back steps. She was laying on her side struggling to breath. She could not move. I was terrified! I thought someone had poisoned her. I grabbed her and rushed to my vet. My vet told me that she was suffering from heat exhaustion and was pretty sick. That did it for me. I told me vet to fix her up and check her for FIV/FL. If all was in the clear she was coming inside with ME! My vet found that Bella had been spayed and declawed but appeared to have had a tough life. Now Bella is an indoor kitty and so loved and so happy. I am glad that she adopted me!
