We had lost our Silver Chinchilla after 8 years, she was 17 years old, which we had rescued from the RSPCA in Sydney. Lynn was greiving for the loss, and I went looking on the Net for a new puss for us to cherish, but had to a rescue. I found Angus (who is listed as Oscar on the Net), and we went over and adopted him immediately. Although I have never been without a cat in 60 years, Angus was the first Scottish Fold we have ever had. What an experience he is! I have never known a breed with such endearing mannerisms.
Bio:
We believe Angus was much loved by his owner, who passed away, and was left by the family in the house to fend for himself. The house was eventually sold to developers for the land, and he was tossed out into the street. The people in Brisbane are not noted for their "knowingness", and this $1000 cat was mistreated by the children in the area, and was eventually handed in injured to a vet, who handed him over to "Little Paws", an organisation that uses foster carers for abandoned pets. He was severely traumatised when we eventually adopted him, and it took about 4 weeks, before he showed what an amazingly affectionate puss he is.
He is still terrified of strangers, and hides under the spare bed whenever the someone comes to the door. He also hates children.
