Arrival Story: I had recently lost the one cat that saved me literally from suiciding (took myself to a hospital in 2003 instead as I could not abandon my cats after "talking" with my beloved "Pagode" "Pah-goaw-djee"). Me and Fuzz (we've been together 13 years) were constantly mourning the devastating loss of Pagode. A month or two later, I started looking at pictures from the kill shelter, every day and kept seeing this kitten with a real "Sweet, but I'm gonna getcha" look about him. Looked at him every day for a week, called about him, was with a foster, went and adopted him. This filled up both mine and Fuzz' life. They played together like crazy best friends, Fuzz being much older, and Beijo weighing in at 2 pounds. Beijo was the first and only kitty I have ever adopted. (I've fostered newborn orphaned kittens before but had to stop -wanted to adopt every one). "Beijo" means "kiss" in Brazilian Portuguese. That all he would do is sandpaper my chin, forehead, arm, finger - he was a big kisser when a kitten! Due to circumstances beyond my control, literally, I had to adopt out Beijo. I had a choice and it was deathly hard, but I chose to keep the special needs cats who would never get adopted and Fuzz who's been with me for 15 years. The cats I adopted out all have loving homes now.

Bio: Beijo is now 4 and a little big, so I'm working on helping a few of them lose a little weight. I am a free-feeder, but am lessening the 2x/day feeding amount.
Beijo, oh the memories of his kittenhood. He's the only one of all from the kill shelter who is super sensitive and needing extra attention (he criiiiiiiiies for it constantly); I believe this is because he was removed and put into foster right away and never experienced shelter life (very lucky Beijo!) and I adopted him at 8 weeks on the dot. He's my special little "forever kitty" as I refer to him as. He knows it, too! lol
