Climbing on top of the big bird cage, being clever, showing my brother cool things, watching the fish tank, staring meaningfully.

My brother can be a bit of a douchebag sometimes, but I love him too much to say so.

Favorite Toy:
My mousies filled with catnip.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On top of the bird cage. I can see everything from up here!

Favorite Food:
Wet food is my favorite.

Climbing amazingly well for a sick kitty, being super nice to the vet people when they see me, never complaining about taking my medication, being super brave.

Arrival Story:
A friend of a friend had two kittens for adoption that she had found in a nearby alley. One was a short haired black male, the other a long haired, black and white kitten. Many people applied for the black and white, but not for his brother. My mommy was the only one happy to take us both and keep us brothers together, so we went home in a scary car, two little bundles snuggled at the back of a big cat carrier. After watching our moods and natures for a while, our mommy named me Hermes and my brother Apollo. I'm named for a cunning, helpful Greek deity... and I'm a clever, sweet boy. :)

When Mommy brought my brother and I in for a vet check when we were little, it was discovered that I had a congenital heart defect, a rather terrible one. When someone put their hand on my big barrel chest my heart was like a big, loud drum. When they x-rayed it, they told me my heart was the size of a human fist! So Mommy likes to say that I had a super big heart. The vets told Mommy I would not live long, but she had hope for me, and afterwards I was put on special medicine that I had to have at least twice a day. Even though I was very ill, I was a happy kitten. I could play with my brother Polly just fine and I showed him lots of cool, fun things to do, like watching the fish tank and how to watch people outside from on the windowsill. I lived much, much longer than anyone ever expected, and for most of that time I was very happy, though hot summer days were hard. Mommy was with me every day because she was sick too, so we looked after each other. One day when she went out to look for a new house for us, I must have decided it was time to go. I don't recall exactly what happened but it made Polly and Mommy and my friends very sad. I had a nice, happy life though, and I now watch over my silly brother so that he doesn't lose any of his nine lives.
