Being a purry cat

Yesterday I had such a great evening. I was a Catster Diary Pick and felt extremely proud and special. I did lots of running in the garden and I had lots of snuggling and tummy rubs with my mum.

When it came to bedtime I sat on the bedside table and I thought about my happy day and I purred. My mum was settling herself down to sleep and I looked at her all peaceful and I purred some more.

She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Sleepy time now Toby"

"I'll just sit here and purr a bit longer."

She closed her eyes again. Then opened them.

"I can't sleep with you purring like that. I keep thinking you'll do something."

How unkind. "I won't" I assured her.

Eyes closed again. More purrs and you know, I do love my mum and I would let her sleep contentedly. I reached out one paw and stroked her gently on the cheek.

Eyes pinged open. "That's exactly what I'm talking about."

She does that to me, little strokes while I'm sleeping. Life can be unfair.

Ooooooh - a big enormous spider has just run across the carpet. I'm off to catch it before my mum sees it and gets scared.

Our guest cat does that too. She sits and purrs for no reason. I think it's so annoying. I only purr when Mom pets me.
