Lady Freya Enjoys Her Last Days

Lady Freya, who owns my office, I just get to use the computer underwent a serious operation about five months ago to have a lump removed, she nearly died after the surgery being about 86 in human years. Sadly it has come back even larger, so we have decided simply to enjoy each other for the time she has left.

We ordered a pet safe heating pad and I can't say enough wonderful things about them, especially for an elderly cat who probably has stage four cancer and was always shivering and cold.

Friends gave us high grade cat nip from the US that I spread on it, and Freya also has nice kitty meds from the vet that keep her feeling well. She still enjoys her food, but her favorite thing is for Mommy to stop working at the computer, lay down and read a book so she can sleep on her.

Her other favorite thing is to sit in her window, but since that's getting a bit hard to do, her favorite soft chair has been moved so she can see out.

It probably won't be long before she joins Thor and Mordred at the rainbow bridge, but I know they will all have fun together when she gets there. In life, when Freya lived outside for a few years, Mordred used to bounce about and follow her like Pepe Lepew. She never returned his advances being spayed (he was fixed too but was still in love). I like to think they will get together in the after life.

I've got a lot more than three cats and will try to get the other two elderly ones and some of the younger ones up as time permits. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying as much time as I can on that sofa - life is short, pet hard.
