Very urgent situation. Out of da blue, the barn director decided he wanted to "get rid" of all but four of the barn cats. There are 13 there not counting the feral who just had kittens (This is not Little Sweetie). He told some peeplz that he'd pay $25 for every feral they took away. Course da ferals are too smart to get caught, but the domestic barn cats walk right up and say hi -- three got taken to the humane society last week. Stephanie just found out last night! Mom was at HS when they opened this morning and claimed back one (named Kenny). One of them was adopted already (good for him!), the third is not fixed and they won't return him. Mom doesn't have $100 to give them for him (they would then fix and chip him) without a family to adopt him. She rescued Kenny (who is, at this moment) in our bathroom! Kenny cannot go back to the barn, there is no family for him. We don't know what to do. He can't just live in the bathroom! Meantime, she tried to explain to the barn director that if they take away the good tame cats, more feral ones will come cause they keep putting out enough food for an army of cats. He won't listen (to be fair he is having a lot of stress right now, his motherinlaw is dying).

Aww this is horrible but your mom is a saint for doing what she can to help the kitties. The same kidna thing happened to my colony after our caregiver lost her job and had to leave it is very sad. Mom hurts for you and your mom sure wish we could help. Oh man, that is a frustrating situation. sending purrs and huggies fur mommy!! hopes sheez gets right out of this bitter sitch all by herself!! Sheez haz to find a way out and purrs fur Kenny. Hopes mommy can find him a good furefur home sos heez wont haz to leaf in the bathroom. Sheez can efun send him to leaf with one of ur hooman sisfurs. And U's can efun tell ur hooman sisfurs to help the kitties get out of the humane society!! If 4 of them gives 25$ each, ur mom will haz 100$. They can help thez mommy out this ways!! another thingy, if that isn't enuff then the catster kitties could efun raise a fund online and donate money fur the barn kitties!! wait till the head kitties seez this entry of urs. Let's seez what they says. dont take the stress on U's, luv. We are purring for your mama and all the kitties. That sure is stressful. we can hope N prayz de barn director will calm down a bit N let de kittehs come bak....we be sorree we doez knot have any advise miranda :( ...purrhaps kitteh 3 will get adopted, kenny will want ta be partz oh yur familee, sweetie N de wee kittehs will bee safe happy N healthy N stay sew, N boomer N tawny will finds forever homes two tho we noe this sounds like a happy ending storee... Me likes happy endings! Maybe we get one. Tawny came to da window and smiled at me today. He got really BIG yellow eyes. He afraid of da peeplz. He funny. Mom still tryin' to get info on the TNR thingie. Da folks don't seem to answer dere phones or emails. Maybe they gotz too many kitties right now. Director texted mom last night askin' when she was gonna remove the rest of da cats. She asked when he was gonna get traps. He thinkin' don't need traps to catch the good cats, so we should just get dem. What he smokin' anyway? |
