Elektra was abused as a kitten and given to Animal Care and Control of New York City as a "stray." Chances are she was called a stray because people did not want to pay the money to give her to the shelter. The shelter contacted Zanni's Furry Friends just before Elektra was to be euthanized. A woman named Valerie took her in for about nine months before she was availible for adoption. She was still timid because of being abused by the time she got here. Now she is very happy but is not so trusting of men she does not know.
