A diary about the new kit

In case you don't know, there's a new kit. We were going to get little Forrest G, (Dad said it was okay) but this kit lives 15 min. from our house and needs a home. Mom said it was love at first sight. It has no home or name.

-- link removed --

Mom said it would be easier to write this in a power point style...

- this kits Momcat was dropped off at a friends house, preg and hungry, they are going to keep her as a barn cat
- the daddy at the house is oldschool, if the lits are not giving away they will go to the shelter
- Mom felt at least Forrest G will have a better future if not adopted

now the Zach issue
- Zach is not good with change, he was livid for weeks when Di came to live with us
- We do dog sit a lot though, so maybe it won't be bad
- Mom says if she still spends quality time with Zach maybe it won't be that bad

- Mom feels bad because cause she stopped Dad from bringing home a dog just two months ago. Mom said she couldn't trust the doggie cause it was three years old. Plus she didn't want to upset Zach.

Now the kit is 5 weeks old and is eating Iams kit food but is still nursing too. Mom said she got Zach when he was around 8 weeks old. Mom says chances are she will bring him home a little latter. He's an outside kitty living in a carport so when do we get his shots? Can he be tested for diseases or should the mommy be tested.

Names= Mom says his pic is his first one and he looks like he's telling a joke. So, Mom is playing around with him having a funny man name here's a few plus some other favorites (zach was almost called Memphis Raynes from "Gone in 60 sec.")

What do you think about Happy Gilmore?

Maybe Jim Carrey

We could call him Titus Pulo sense Lucius is named well Lucius. Titus was the crazy ape of an roman solider that was best friends with Lucius.

Or we could name him Memphis

Tristine, one of Dad's favorite

We have more names, but these are Mom's favorites.

Woohoo, that is so cool that you are going to adopt Forrest G! But...you're changing the name that Teddy B picked out? Bummer, I purrsonally love the name Forrest G -- but , oh well, I'm just glad he's getting a home with a Catster furmily. Maybe a calming collar would help Zach - it apparently halped Katerina.

That is another kit, not Forrest, or one of Pandas. Zach, just thought the fact it was dadcats fav would make him happy, and easier for mom to get any more in the future

No Gump, we were going to adopt Forrest then this kitty came around.

Oh, I guess I was excited and didn't read that carefully. I thought you said you were going to adopt Forrest and I thought you were just putting up a random pic of a little tuxie.

Thats all right Gump, I see my link for the pic is gone again. Errrrrr. No we wanted to get little Forrest bad but this kit is in worse need of a home. Just trust me on this. I've seen the horses of the people that was going to take him and his little sister, which still needs a home. She's solid black with a white star and white mittens and one black toe.

I'm glad you saved one from a miserable fate, but I'm still purraying BIG TIME for Panda's Kits, who will be ready Sept 1, before we know it.
Every one saved is a really big deal!!
I think you should name him Happy G.
In Legends of the Fall, it was Tristan, a regular boy's name. It means "sad".
He's sure a Zach Doppelganger!!! Luv, Tink

Tink, the meaning of the name sure fits the movie. Of course in the movie with all the tragedy in his life he keeps moving forward (in his on way)

I like Happy G. G for Gump. I looked and there is two Happy Gilmores on this website. I thought about Jerry Lee Lewis too.
Doesn't he look like he's happy in his pic.? So cute.

Um, I have my tux sleeves rolled up where he's wearing a black cape. What about Mistro?

Like Maestro? As in a conductor?? I LOVE that!!

BTW, we are taking Snow, one of Panda's Babies, who is deaf. For absolute sure! Since we're so close they are bringing him sometime in Sept. Ingen wants Novi, but getting him there is MUCH more complicated.

Forgive Mom she's on vacation and so is her brain. She says she can't think of the last time she wrote out Maestro.

Are we positive these kits aren't Blizzs. MOL! Deaf really. How does John know? My kit is outside, when should I get vaccinations done? I know he's at higher risk. I love the thought of you getting a little one!

Most white cats are deaf in both ears when they have blue eyes, or on the side of the blue eye if they are mismatched. Snow was only partly responsive to noise, and John is tuned into that because Blizzard is deaf.

The kittens get vac's on the same schedule even though they are high-risk. They can be tested themselves, they don't have to have the mother tested unless he is positive.

Mom- I knew there was a white cat deaf connection but I didn't realize it was that simple. Growing up I had some white cats. One was "Snowflake" and the other was "Duncan" I think it's Duncan in my lap on The cat rainbow page.

Back to me- So, I see you've changed your picture...I love you too, Tink.

We are going to wait the full 8 to 10 weeks before taking the kit home. Mom is thinking of going to visit the kit next week.

Our house isn't what you would call kitten proof or worse 1 year old proof, lots of breakables around. It will be interesting...

I like Happy G also!
Perhaps get a calming collar for Zach?
Yes, please kitten proof your house. They do GET INTO EVERYTHING~ including places that you would think are too small.
1st vaccine is at 8 weeks. They can be tested then.
Mom needs to be tested only if kitten is pawsitive for anything. (Let's hope not!)
He is crazy cute! I wish you guys lots of luck!

OMC! we have been away for too long mom is too busy these days. Wow this is some exciting news! I think Zack can do this for sure, no cat can be worse than me about change and look at me I adjusted to 4! of those kits at one time. It is not as bad as it seems, if you haven't already , maybe try some rescue remedy, as you might recall mom and I love it!
We had the kittens tested early (6-8) weeks for FIV and Fel (? is that right) and of course we kept them seperate from us for a few weeks.
SO happy for you and the precious kitten.
