Arrival Story:
Tabby came with the house we bought. I originally would see him around the neighborhood, hitting up spots for food and shelter, but he would always come back to our porch.I suspect the previous owner abandoned him. He was also quite the accomplished kick boxer, I often saw him getting down and dirty with the other neighborhood felines. I became quite smitten with him and would leave food out for him on the porch. When it got colder, I made him a nice enclosure on the porch with hay and a heated pad for the winter. He eventually began to trust me and come inside the front door for a few minutes to warm up. One day in January of 2003 we had an awful ice storm that did a lot of damage. I was going out to let out the dogs and I saw Tabby wet and terrified streaking into the backyard to go under the deck, terrified by all the tree limbs and power lines that were constantly snapping and falling under the weight of all the ice. He came inside gladly where the first order of business was getting him a bath and dried off. As I bathed him (he was wonderful letting me give him a bath) I noticed that he had no claws. That settled it. My sister and I decided to keep him inside full time with us if he would have us. He has been with us since, and is the sweetest cat! We are allergic to cats, but after he was with us for a while, he doesn't bother us much at all. He has so much personality and we love him dearly!
