One thing Pops and I do to work my energy off is go outside. I had been asking last night and then again this morning. Asking, asking, asking, asking, asking, asking, asking, asking. You know what I mean. The old Cat Nudge.
Pops said "Its snowing Rumpy. I also have to make some treats. Maybe later."
Treats do take top billing. Always. But while waiting I thought: ‘What's snow anyhow?’
As soon as Pops finished putting the Treats in the dryer I went back to asking, asking, asking, asking, asking, asking, asking. Pops got me in my nice TIger Harness. I kept up telling him hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry.
Finally he finished putting his leg on, the good bendy one, and we went down the stairs. Open the door! Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, WHOA! STOP!
What in the cat world? I saw it with my own eyes, smelled it with my own nose, felt it with my own paws! Wow! Snow is really weird white wet fluff stuff!
I did not even feel the cold as I was all busy figuring out this snow. It does not smell. It does not taste. It is not hard. It was soft actually. It is WEIRD. So I sniffed, poked, and then licked it. Interesting. Very interesting stuff this snow. WHOA! STOP! What is that scent?
There! There it was! I found a good scent spot on the ever-bush. Hmmmmm. Sniff! Sniff! Smelly smell smell sniff sniff SNIFF.
I backed up and looked at the stinky spot. I reared up and did a double paw whammy on it the ever-bush branch. I got it all the way down to the ground and then that sneaky branch goes up in the air and Snow stuff falls all over me. I shook it off and took a sit. Then I gave that branch a real good mean-cat don’t do that again look! The branch was frozen with fear. That branch did not move a bit. I WIN! HA!
When we went in I gave Pops my thank you stair walk. I go up one stair at a time flop over and say Thanks Pop! Thanks Pop! Thanks Pop! Thanks Pop! Thanks Pop! Thanks Pop!
Wow what a fun trip outside yesterday! Every cat was happy to listen to my story. I cannot wait for our next outside visit!
Do you have Snow where you are?
Thanks fur being my friends!
Rumpy Bump Stumpnots
I have walked in the snow visiting my grandparents! It was fun! But where I live it's warm and rainy. Good lap weather
We have snow from yesterday, but right now it is just cloudy...the foreboding lull befur the storm, as we are expecting snow, rain ice and mix...YUCK. Sometimes I,Pipo, try to catch snowflakes as they fall outside my bid pictre window where my cat perch is...even I can't get them if they land on the windowpane.
Many long years ago, our Simba kitty liked to try and sneak through open doors, esp the outside ones...he wanted to eat the grass at the bottom of the steps...Well he did that once after a huge storm of over a foot of snow, along with drifting. So he thought...look there is a level walking place right off of the porch, I do not need to use the steps...and he jumped right in that snowbank..OOPS!
He was in there up to his belly and couldn't move...he had such a look on his face like 'What The Cat Happened!'
Meowmy felt sorry fur him, but giggled her head of, and still does just thinking about it.
Did he learn?? Nope...he remained an escaper kitty all his days!
Stay warm & safe over there!
Never did get to go out in it. Just lay on my comfy fleece throw inside the door to the deck and watched. But now I know what it's like!
I experienced my very first snow this year too. Mom took pics of me walking around in it. I was really fasicinated in watching it fall. Seeing that I had never seen it before.
I told my catster friends that yeah it was cold and wet but I was just happy being outside. Check out my primary pic.
Mom took me outside in the snow a few years back, but I had no interest in that cold, wet stuff!
We have snow here too - more coming tonight. But I don't get to go outside - the closed in porch is as far as meowmie lets me, so I really really really enjoy reading about your adventures. And you certainly showed that branch who's boss!
Oh Rumpy, had enough of snow when i was living rough outside! It sounds like you had a great time...for me, it's better inside!
