Arrival Story:
A woman who traps and spays and neuters cats in the Albany area found 16 kittens, resulting from an unfixed feral colony. She hunted them down, litter by litter, finding them in an engine block, and a box in the woods. The 4 are from at least 2 different litters.

Bio:
Hi, my name is Page, after Betty Page. She was a foster kid to, and a flirty glamor puss, like me! Foster mom wasn't feeling too creative, I guess, so she gave most of us famous people names, we shall see if they stick. I have a sister, Puzzle, who is also torti, and 2 orange tiger foster brothers, Salinger, who prefers to be left alone, and Andre. I'm going to save the reason he is called Andre for later. I'm the healthiest of the crew now, and the most photogenic. There is a bad eye infection among us, I'm the only one who doesn't have it. We also have URIs. I guess foster mom got the sickliest batch, but she was expecting to end up with 8 of us, so there was a trade off there, MOL! My siblings each get .5 ml clavamox every 12 hours, and prescription eye drops every 4 hours or so. Foster mom also gives us some formula from a syringe so we don't get a huge aversion to having things shoved in our mouthes from all this medicating! Update, July 23, 2010 we are all healthy now, Salinger and Puzzle are up for adoption at Beaverton Petsmart, and I await my spay and my turn to be adopted out at a foster home.

Adopted!

I was adopted with my sister, Roz, by a family with two little human girls who totally adore us. Bye, everyone, I'm going to be spoiled rotten.
And former step mom needs to make an album or something to keep pictures of her former fosters in, she must be getting close to a dozen, and wants to remember all of us. -Page

DDP Again! Updates

August 8th 2010 9:38 am
[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ]

Wow, I was a DDP last week, to.
I have been enjoying wrestling with my sister, Rozz, and some crazy black kittens. I have also been escaping to the driveway every chance I get, where I'm invariably captured.
We had some sadness this week when Elan, a kitty my former foster mommy found all skinny and dying who my new foster mommy was trying to save, lost his battle with the wasting caused by his thyroid problem, which apparently had already gone too far when he was found and treatment was started. Former brother, Nikolai, wrote about it in his journal.
Former foster mommy was still really surprised Puzzle ended up having ear mites in her new home, so she read up on them. The Cat Repair Book said they can be acquired after birth from ma cat, but not really show up until weeks later. That would explain why our ears seemed fine when the vet checked us in Foster care, those mites may have been so few in number the vet couldn't see them. The book also said if one kitty has mites, you'd best assume everyone else does now to. Uh oh, there are like 20 of us in this garage fostering room, what a pain. Well, old foster mom will talk to new foster mom about it, she is sure new foster mom has a lot more experience with ear mites. And old foster mom will call her vet tomorrow to. I guess former foster brother, Andre, and his boyfriend, Nikolai, were seen to be scratching their ears a little last night.
Former foster mom will NOT be dusting everyone with flea powder, as The Cat Repair Book recommends, that stuff is terrible.
Former foster mom brought Blackberry and Sprite back to the adoption center yesterday. They had shown some improvement in sociability, but then plateaued. Thing is, they are perfectly friendly. The "shyness" is just an act. So mommy figured out some tricks that bring them out of their act. Hopefully those will help them be adopted. Their mommy was returned to the same cage as them to. She had been adopted, but the adoptive home's other cat was very mean to her. I wonder if they will act more shy or less shy with mommy there.
Better go. Thanks, Diary Bot, I owe you a defrag or something.
I'm still very much up for adoption, as is my sister, Rozz, who looks a lot like me.
