My dad hopes to send out thank yous, and keep track of all of you, but his job has been so busy and now he's going on vacation for 2 weeks.

We have missed special days of special friends too, and when he's on vacation he might miss more good friends with special days. We miss being in touch.

Dad Got Me Day!

May 13, 1975 was a happy day for me. And today is my Gotcha Day Anniversary!

I had my kitten picture put on the top of my page then the rest of the photos are chronological by date as I grew up.

My dad had seen an ad for free kittens; so on May 13/75 he decided he was ready to go look at the precious babies who were ready to be adopted.

On purpose, he came out to choose a kitten - and he got me!!

I was very lucky (and he says he was very lucky too)!

Birthdays Go Fast Like Snow Melting on a Mild Day

[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ]

My birthday is over and the snow is melting.

But life goes on at the Bridge, and we go forward to thank our friends!

Thank you all for visiting me on my birthday yesterday, and for your comments, pawmails, gifts and Photos made for me by Pipo & Minko and also by Rory, Tundra, Lynzee & Manytoes! I've put those two pictures on my page already!

I've already been sharing (and eating) the cupcake from Hartley, Jenny, Darian 'Little Man', Tina Fey and Psy.

My Canadian Flag from Smiley Cassanova has been waving in the wind.

Slow chasing games are fun with the ladybug from Louis Le Beau, Ethan, Simon, KC, Teesha, Monroe, Kirby D and Tristan.

I love the red rose from Teebo, Callie and Rose.

Fave also gave me a red rose and both of them now sit in a vase so I can take care of them every day.

Years ago in our first apartment, I used to sit beside my Dad's rose he got once when he was in a musical in community theatre; I really like them!

Thank you all again, very much, for your kindness and thoughtfulness!

Love Georgina

My Birthday April 15, 2013

My dad was thinking about my birthday and thought of a special photo to put on my page that he's had ready for a long time. Since today is my approximate birthdate, he thought a snowy photo would be OK.

It's a photo of me outside at his parents' house in the snow, Dec. 30, 1981. I rarely went outside but when I did, I was a slow mover thank goodness. I never ran away fast ever; still my dad did not like to have me outside much at all.

His parents had a dark fluffy cat named Emily so she is on the step in the photo and I'm near the camera, investigating!

He thinks back on my 15 years with him, with smiles and love, wishing I did not have to go to the Bridge way back in 1990. But time on earth for kitties is short so our Moms and Dads squeeze all their appreciation of us into that short time. My dad does not regret having me with him at all.

My birth date was April 15, 1975 – oh I was born a long time ago by now! We have to look back and figure out if my birth-date should be different. My dad is thinking he got me when I was 8 weeks old which makes my birthday in March. He will have to get out his old diary again!

But I had a nice Birthday Party at the Rainbow Bridge this year. My sister Serena was up here with me this time. Samantha and Felix have been up here with me for a little while now.

And my Dad got me May 13, 1975. He still remembers how I was the most playful kitten in the box of kittens he went to see, on the day he chose me. And he wanted the playful one, and he got me!

Here at the Rainbow Bridge these two Anniversaries this year were so memorable because of the thoughts and care from my Catster kitty furriends (Thank you!) who are:

Gotcha Day Gifts, Sunday, May 13, 2012

Today is the anniversary of my Gotcha Day on May 13, 1975. And today my brother Tyson is diary pick when accidentally Tabatha’s diary is in Tyson’s diary! Who did it; I think my Dad made the mistake!

My Dad thought about me Friday night. He was in Chatham, Ontario Friday night which is where he lived in a basement apartment when he got me May 13, 1975. Many of the photos of me on my page were taken in that basement apartment – I’m sitting in the window, on the couch, the chair, and so on. Of course I lived with him when he moved to two other cities afterwards, and was still with him when he returned to Chatham in 1987.

Friday night he was in Chatham to go to the funeral home of a theatre friend who died at the age of 81. Dad did community theatre with this man and his wife. It was nice for him to see his theatre friends who were also there.

As he was leaving Chatham he drove past his old apartment and drove into the driveway and parked where he used to park – in front of the window of his old apartment. Teens were roaming around so he did not get out of the car but he did want to go into the lobby and get the feel of the old place again.

But by just driving down the street in that area he used to live in, and into the parking lot, he had the old feelings of his theatre friends he did shows with, from 1975 to 1981 while living here, and feelings of me and him together, at a time in the past.

Thank you my Catster friends for pretty gifties and nice comments and pawmails. Tundra, Rory, Manytoes & Lynzee made me a special photo for my page - in Dramatic Theatre Colors – we love it!

Snowflakes Or Summer?

Dad got teeny tiny snowflakes falling today so I said to him, from up here at the Bridge (and he could hear me too), to put on a summer-like picture on my page so you can forget about snow! So he put on a new picture. And guess who is holding me (now don't laugh)!

He always had to be the one holding a cat whenever pictures were being taken!

Anniversary of my Rainbow Bridge Day - Aug. 27, 1990

August 27th 2011 2:16 pm
[ Leave A Comment | 3 people already have ]

Thanks Catster furriends for your pawmails, Rosettes, comments and photos made for me on the anniversary of my Rainbow Bridge day - I went to the Bridge Aug. 27, 1990.

Lately Dad has been thinking of me and of how he used to be so sad about me leaving when he'd say to himself, with regret, "No one could help you. I wish they could help you".

A few months ago on Good Friday, he wanted to try to find the farm where he got me. He had never gone by my birth home ever, since the day he got me. He remembered how he chose me from my kitten family because I was the most playful. So on Good Friday, as he was driving to visit his sister, he drove by the farms on his way. He thinks he could tell which farm he got me at, but he's not exactly sure because it was so long ago. But it gave him a feeling of at least being in the area of where he got me.

Dad let me outside sometimes but not often. And he was always with me and since I was a big kitty he was sure I'd not run away at a very fast speed.

I did get out on my own once which scared him. Not exactly on my own, but it was when he had air conditioning installed on his furnace system and I got out when the workers were coming in and out. Dad did not know at all that I escaped, and when the workers left, he tried to find me to tell me 'They're gone. Everything's ok, come on out Georgina'. But he couldn't find me and looked all over the house, then he panicked thinking I must have gotten outside.

It was getting dark out, and he was terrified at how hard it would be to find me in the dark. He got a flashlight and went outside to start looking. He jumped up on the wood fence in the back yard and used the flashlight on the garden that was beyond the fence. Beyond that garden, was the street. That made him rush into finding me even more.

Luckily he could see my eyes shining in the garden. But I was heading into the direction of where the street was. He jumped over that fence so fast, and got me. He thanked God that I never got to that street. It was one of those terrifying moments in his life, during that search for me.

Shortly before my Bridge day, Dad was trying to feed me baby food because I was not eating. I was not getting better so he called the Vet to set a day to put me to sleep. That day came, and it was planned to go to the Vet when he was done work. He went home from work on his noon hour to check on me, and I was lying down. He pet me and I purred for him. It was my last purr for him because when he got home after work, ready to take me to the Vet, I had already passed away some time between him seeing me at noon and when he got home from work. He called the Vet to cancel the appointment and he has never forgotten my last purr I gave to him.

I know Dad loves me a lot. And he will love me forever.

Love Georgina, xo

My New Photo!

Rory made me a nice picture of me lazing around in the living room in 1988. I put it at the top of my page; I like it a lot!

I always sat like that with my arms stretched out front - it was so comfortable.

Dad is thinking that Tyson is getting as big as I was. I was Dad's first boy kitty, then Felix, and now Tyson.

But Felix was little and small; he was curious about everything! Tyson and I are a bit more alike in that we are big kitties and fairly quiet though I admit I was more animated than Tyson, but Felix was the most animated one of the 3 of us.

One time when Dad woke up he wondered where I was. He sat up in bed looking around. Suddently he saw me, and I was right in front of him, on a box past the foot of the bed, staring back at him, as cool as a cucumber! I guess he had too much sleep in his eye!

Here at the Bridge I'm getting to know my sister Serena who is the most recent family member to come here. I never grew up with her so we are catching up on things like what we enjoyed and what bothered us (and spilling secrets to each other about our Dad)!

Dad was cleaning up things around the house today and lots of times he was thinking about Serena and I.

He does not get to thoroughly houseclean much so Serena and I were chatting up about that!

Gotcha! May 13, 1975

[ Leave A Comment | 4 people already have ]

Righty-O! I guess Felix should say that, not me. I was around for about two weeks after Felix's Gotcha Date. But today, another May date for my Dad, it's "My" Gotcha Day!

Because of my 15 years with my Dad he realized the value and friendship of us kitties! He chose me on May 13, 1975 because I was the most playful of all my kitten brothers and sisters. He watched all of us kittens and there I was pouncing and he decided that I'd be the one he would choose. He wanted to get an orange kitty anyway I think. He was told boy kitties were most playful and he and I played a lot as I grew up and it was true, this boy liked to play!

There is one thing I remember happening when I was still under one year old I think. He had a fly-swatter on the floor. I had never seen one before and he filmed my reaction to it. I approached it cautiously, very wary of it, sashaying toward it to be sure I'd be ready to turn & run away if I had too. I was wondering what it was. Then I swatted at it. And I swatted at it again, and again, faster and faster. Since it would not move, I was fine with it! Whenever Dad showed that home movie to his family everyone laughed!

Sometimes when I was older, Dad would peek at me from around the corner. Then I'd catch him peeking and run after him. And he'd run through the house and I would chase him - now that is playing for sure!

Thanks for your nice pawmails, Gifts in my gift boxes and photos made for me which I will put on my Catster Page!

Love, Georgina xo
