indoors Arrival Story: About two months after taking Finnegan into my home I realized he was a much more social cat than my previous little girl and he needed a friend. I had never owned more than one cat at a time before but decided to get him a girlfriend. I went to the local shelter where I know they are very clean, loving and responsible there. I looked at all the kitties and Lacey was the very last one we spotted. She was hiding at the top of her cat tree but came down to see us the minute we came over to her. She was friendly, purring and just a delight. So I adopted her and within 1 day her and Finney were inseperable. They love each other very much and I'm so lucky to have them both! Bio: I call her Googly because she's a ball of fun and cracks me up constantly. She has these crazy eyes when she's playing that means she's about to go nuts! She also helps me run my website dedicated to helping kitties with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, pancreatitis, fatty liver and other GI related disorders, http://www.ibdkitties.net/. Lacey is thankfully healthy but my previous kitty Alex lost her battle to these diseases. I also have a blog: http://ibdkitties.blogspot.com/. Hello all of our catster friends. I know it's been a furry long time since mom has taken dictation and done our dairies. She's been busy with her garden and having a lot of allergies too. Plus we've seen a lot of sadness on here lately with our friends being sick and some of them going to the bridge. It's been tough for mom and grammy without Midnight. Especially grammy, she REALLY misses her big time. Mom can't get used to not having to run downstairs 20 times a day and check on her. We hope she's happy at the bridge with Alex and Moufasa.
So what's new and exciting? Nothing much here. Like I said mom's been doing a lot of work outside and getting some vitamin D from the good old sun. We'd like to thank everyone who gave us those nice prezzies yesterday for Mother's Day. Sorry we were not around so we could give those out. I wish there was a way to just say "select all" and press it once so it goes to all of our friends. It's a huge pain to have to select each kitty individually. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and we miss you all very much. Hope you're all doing well! Love you guys!

I'm a McDDP! MOL. Sounds like a Big Mac or something. Thanks everyone for your DDP wishes and prezzies and stuff. Things are pretty quiet here lately other than grammy having heart trouble and Midnight's issues. Mommy wants to tell you about Midnight so I'll let her talk. She says I talk too much lately anyway, MOL.
from Mom: I want to give you an update on my sister’s cat Midnight. As you all know she’s got IBD/colitis and has had chronic UTIs. Now she’s got something new. She’s got something called Horner’s Syndrome. I had to take her to the vet last Friday afternoon because one of her pupils is constricted and her third eyelid is up ¼ of the way into her eye. Both her pupils are now different sizes which is not good. Horner’s Syndrome is idiopathic like IBD and can have many different causes. One is bacteria so she’s on Baytril right now. This is something that may or may not resolve itself so she may have to live with it forever, we don’t know. If it does resolve, it could take up to a month. Then there is the very worst case scenario which could be a brain tumor. That’s not something the vet thinks is the case here but of course she can’t see into her head without an x-ray, but none of the signs yet point to that. It points to Horner’s. So we’d be happy if it was just that, it won’t interfere with her vision or anything so she’ll be okay with it. My poor Midngight. I cannot bear the thought of it being a tumor so we’re just concentrating on giving the antibiotics and hoping this does resolve itself. Here’s what Horner’s is: Horner's Syndrome. Prayers and purrs would be much appreciated if you can, just in case.
Okay it's me again, mom had to hijack my diary to tell the complicated stuff about Middy. Thanks again for my DDP honor and if you can purr for Midnight that would be so wonderful. That poor girl has gone through so much but for right now she'd doing well (knock on wood).
Love you guys!

Mommy is taking cousin Midnight to the vet at 5:30. There's something wrong with her left eye. We hope it's just a scratch but for two days the third eyelid has been covering part of the eye. Her pupil is a little constricted. No discharge or anything and she's acting just fine otherwise. Still able to see where she's going, eating great, not even pawing at it or squinting. Walking fine, jumping fine, etc. sigh. Poor baby can't catch a break. Just because her IBD has been under control now she has this. If you can, please purr and pray for her that it's just a scratch or something minor. Thanks everybody.
Love Lacey
