It's been very warm out for several days now. I am happy to go out for my walks without my embarassing sweater on. Last week was very cold, so mom kept making me wear this dumb "sweater" over my harness. It's not even a real sweater, it's just the sleeve off an old sweater of hers. I think it's interfering with my hunters crouch and my run. At the very least it's interfering with my clear thinking. Last week, wearing that sweater, I was chasing after a squirrel. I had it in a frenzy and it ran right into the big AC/heat unit on the ground. It hit so hard that even my mom heard this big BONK! sound. I ran around the side of the unit and waited for the squirrel to come around, but that BONK must have scrambled it's brain because it took an extra second. I looked back around the side to see what happened to the squirrel, which was a dumb mistake, because the squirrel used that moment to sneak around me and up a tree. I blame the sweater. Usually at this point the squirrel will shout squirrel obscenities at me from the tree, but this time it was silent. That made me feel better. That squirrel probably has a big bump on his head.
The only good thing about the cold weather last week was my mom turned on the heat. Ahhhhhh! I was so happy! I jumped right up to my special high spot on this shelf under a heat vent. I lifted my head and basked in the warm air. Then the past few days warmed up so my mom turned the heat off again to save money. That cheapskate! C'mon mom! It's still cold at night! Supposedly it's going to get chilly again tomorrow. So the lovely heater will be back. But I will have to wear the dumb sweater outside. Sigh.

I love having the heat on.
I sit on the dinning room table directly under my favorite vent and the wind from the central heating makes my fur all billowy and romantic looking! It's the best! Sorry to hear about the sweater Toki. When I'm REALLY naughty... mommy puts this ugly pink sweater on me she bought for Moe Moe when they first adopted her cause she had no belly fuzzies at the time. I hate it. It's so embarrassing, I always calm right down and look hurt when it happens.
Yeah, isn't the heat great? River I can totally picture you with your fur all billowy in the warm breeze from the vent :) The heat (when it is on) is on a schedule, and when it comes on I can hear it so I jump up to my spot. It was funny (to my mom) when Summer started and I heard that sound that I thought meant the heater and I jumped up to my spot. But cold air started blowing down on me! It was the AC! and I made a funny face like "What the?!"
River your mom should take a picture of you in the punishment sweater. My mom thinks it sounds cute. Ah mothers.
Your Mom makes hats & stuff for other cats, you should demand that she make you an ultra cool jacket for cold weather. Perhaps a nice Victorian overcoat & cape to go with your top hat?
A couple of weeks ago,Bent Ear caught a young squirrel! So it can be done, though he has the stray cat experience edge on us. He ate all of it but the last 4 inches or so of tail. I captured the end of a squirrel's tail once.....
You'd be surprised how much BONK a skull can take. These kittens are constantly chasing each other around at full speed like wild savages,& lots of times they'll hit the tubular steel frame of the futon head first. BONG!!! But it doesn't seem to faze them. My conclusion? No brain to injure!
Ahhh! Yes, those heating vents! Ours are in the wall, so we can really hog them!
Yup, meowmy has seen that OMC look when that AC comes on instead! MOL!
None of us have evfur had to wear a sweater...but sometimes meowmy does dress us for pics, HISS!
dood...ewe noe squirrels iz az stoooooooooopid az burds...they just think they iz sum thing coz oh that rocket J squirrel havin hiz own show with that moose like a bazillion yeers ago.... peace out n rock on....
Bent Ear caught and ate a squirrel?! Wow! I wonder if they taste like acorns and attitude. If I caught a squirrel I would wear his tail on my head like Davy Crockett. I heard squirrel tails grow back!
Mom wants to make me a warm shirt but she doesn't know how to knit and she wants it to be comfortable for movement outside. Maybe fleece? It's kinda stretchy and she can sew it. I don't like the "sweater" because it's too baggy around my butt so it feels like a dress.
It rained yesterday and today mom was late and couldn't take me out. :(
ps- I never heard of Rocket j squirrel... guess I'll google it
