Blizzard was at the vet yesterday with a Urinary blockage. He came home later, but was acting very oddly, hissing and growling and hiding from his daddy.
Everyone, please purr your hardest. This is our Catfather!!!!

Listen, some business here-the following cats all need to be 're-homed'. One we know is Harrison. He's a handsome dude like myself. Though it's believed that Harrison would be best as an 'only' cat, mehinks he might do well with a younger sib or another boy....he reminds Mom of Smokie, who can be very very dominant.
But here is a list of the kitties and their pages:
http://www.catster.com/cats/1196521 Harrison, Ca.
and our friends Pumpkin, Missy and Willow
As per Willows page, they only have 2 weeks to find homes. This is a big worry to me. Because then what? Can all of us who can work to find these kits homes? Perhaps one of us has bid a goodbye to a fur and would be ablle to take one or more?
We are in a difficult place with 6 of us in a small space, but we know that some may have 'room at the inn'.
As the economy has been bad, we fear it's hurt some of our friends, and made it difficult for them to find lodging and housing with their furs. This is the scariest thing, and one of the reason's mom wants when she finishes her schooling, to escape from NY. But we know others have had to move across country to other oppertunties and despite very bad situations, have taken their cats.
We ask all here...no matter where you are....to put out word of mouth and reach out to the people with the furts to help. Why? Because there but for the Grace of God....
Good energy comes back 3 fold....if you heart leads you...listen.
When Mommy and Daddy bought CK home, it was becuase there was no where else for him. We know that Mommy and Daddy didn't plan on it, but we love CK, and we are glad.
We'd like to say to anyone who is struggling....please reach out to the following if you feel you must rehome:
1)Go in and speak with your vet! In fact, go in and speak with many vets or their office staff. Do this in person. It's too easy to have somoene on the phone say 'ok'' but somoene in person is going to be more real. Have a poster ready with your cats picture on it and ask the vet for help, to post it in their lobby and to consider your cat for anyone who recently saw a cat fly to the Bridge.
2) If there are pet sitters in the area, or you use one, contact them. Email them pictures, and explain the situation. Delilah, our foster, got a home with a friend of a friend of a catsitter. It was word of mouth. It can be done, and personal contacts can be the best.
3) Contact local rescues. If possible, hang onto your cats and let the rescue 'show' them at their events. Offer to volunteer to give back, so the rescue doesn't feel overwhelmed.
4)Network with everyone you know and everyone you don't. Go to local businesses, and ask if you can put up a poster. Ask if they know of anyone who would want a very sweet and loving cat.
We are very sad when we see that cats must be rehomed. We urge eveyrone doing so to not react and do something that could cause the kitty harm.
Blessings to all...and we hope all our friends will find the best homes there are.
Love and light, Ruffy

There's an ancient belief
That we never die-we soar through the air
and the blue of the sky
We take a rest just over Rainbow
Where friends gone before
Are waiting you know,
And then when we've rested, and done catly things
We come back to our people, once more angels without wings
And there just aren't goodbyes
We just shed our form
The one we put on the day we were born
But we're more than fur, oh way more than that
It's no small thing being a magickal cat
Simba in Cornwall, born in a magickal place
A cat of small stature but gosh what a face
He was born magick with all the right spells
What now are they? Well Simba won't tell
Yet he is a Spirit Guide, and their job you know
Is to trot back and forth across the Rainbow
To bring wisdom to people, and courage to cats
To lead us in magick, well how special is that?
And there are no goodbyes-I saw him this week
He purred and he 'rrrrted?' and played hide and seek
My little friend, from across the pond
Got his wings to visit, and I'm very fond
Of my pal Simba, who's not far away
He stopped in to comfort and then stopped to play
So now friend Simba, what color will you be?
When you come back to your mum and dad-will you tell me?
You say your mom knows, she's been in touch with you too!
Ah, you know Simba, you know she knows you!
There are those miracles you'll be called to perform
Cause that was just always the reason your were born
And I know that sooon, Simba's dad will soon see
Another kitty in need...
Will he look like old me?
Or perhaps our friend Blizzard? Or Kringle or who?
Well, Simba like's kidding, so maybe it'll be two...
So there are no goodbyes, I drift into a snooze
There's no sense of sadness, we didn't lose...
for there were pawprints this morning on the window glass
We know you're there Simba, we just saw you pass
And I give a little smile, as I close my eyes
Yep, always Simba, just one of the guys.
Dedicated to the most courageous Simba, Lion Cat of Cornwall. Hail and Remanifest my friend and Brother.

Recently, a lovely large 39 lb marmalade and white tiger Tabby came to world attention when he was turned into an animal shelter.
The sad thing was that Meow, who was a big handsome orange soul wasn't alone. He was turned in with a canine brother who happened to be an older pit bull.
The dog, tragically, was euthanized.
Meow, was a miracle. Perhaps he would have had a short shelf life, too, if it wasn't for hsi size that garnered attention. He was noticed...and his weight, age, and gentle disposiiton saved him. He was sent to the Santa Fee Animal Shelter, who started to work with him right away to help him lose weight.
Meanwhile, the Spin Doctors were already hard at work. How could such a lovely cat wind up so terribly obese? Stories spread of the neglect heaped on him by his former 'owner'.
The story was, as stories often are, a combination of spin, exaggeration, and pathos as well as things that were not quite the truth.
Meow had been found, a cat abandoned in the deseert. He wandered in to the home of the ladies who would be his 'people'. His real and true person loved him dearly. Did she see to his weight-it appeared she tried to, but the local vet didn't remark that Meow was unhealthy, and as per his person's sister, Meow did not eat more than any normal cat.
Meow wound up losing his home when his person passed from cancer. His person's mom, who had lived with his person, apparently did not feel she could care for the animals and turned them into the shelter.
That her other adult daughter had assured her she would return, and take charge of the animals somehow wasn't heeded or believed. Perhaps there was confusion or disbelief. Grief can do things to people. We are sad for the dog that never stood a c hance.
And Meow became a media celebrity. He went to do a TV show, flying from Santa Fe to NY. And then he returned to his foster home...where he was loved and doted on. For how could you not dote on such a lovely large handsome fellow.
But within hours, Meow became ill. His body gave out.
He passed probably the way he had lived...with a serenity of spirit that enabled our Alex to touch noses to his, her rainbow glossimer wings opening before her, as she lightly hovered above and bid him 'come'.
So what is the meaning of all this? That a large portly and overweight cat was bought to the attention of the right people and saved? That he shouldn't have been allowed to get to that state? That he should have had a better life?
Methinks Meow's 'tao' was that he was a wonderouls Spirit who perhaps bought to light one thing...that no matter how we come in from the cold...or the heat...that we are loving beings who so depend on those who walk on two legs.
I believe....I know that Meow was loved. That was his Tao, his Way. He gave love and recieved love.
That he was a being made of light and love perahps was the answer...that he deserved more...we all of us...all of us still out there, struggling, or existing in small cages, waiting for a home, or a needle...
All of us deserve more...
And perhaps, as our advocate across the Bridge, our Gentle and Kind
friend had a purpose we may not know from our vantage point.
But as I gaze at his picture, my spirit speaks...and I say 'Fly free my friend. Be our Advocate, our Angel with a Purpose. Join those who stand shoulder to shoulder for us here, and know, always, that you will always be admired....and so much loved.
From the windowsill of one Orange Tabby...
love and light,

There's patches of cloud
There's patches of sun
It's an overcast day
But it's a good one
and i laze over here,
On my couch back,
Enjoying a midmorning warm nap attack
But i wanted to share this
As you're on my mind
And a better feline friend
I've yet to find
Though we're far away
Our souls never care
For to a soul kitty
We can be right there
The Goddess with Fur,
Is purring I know
Watching over you
Wherever you go
She knows you well,
She's told me
for she understands Spirits
That need to be free
And I thought I would share
Don't be forlorn
Because the Cat Goddess
Danced the day you were born
I sit and I watch as the sun just breaks through
As I roll on my side
And think of you
A purring small beast, wtih a wonderful heart
You are so loyal and lovely and smart
You've got a mission on this early May morn
For you know the Goddess Danced
On the day you were born
And does she purr in your ear
Can you feel her there
A sparkling feline
Shaped with wings and some prayer
Yes she's alive, magick find a way
To curl up around you
Where you are today
For yes, felines know, as cats always do
Magick's afoot, it's always true
For you danced the circle
And the web was formed
Of real cat magick on the day you were born
And I watch her outline
Soft ears, softer face
lovely little feline of love and good grace
Who weaves the night and day into form
And she whispers to me
'We're divine in cat form'
And I purr the louder
Watch her take wing
The very real promise of eternal Spring
As she flies to you, in immmortal form
For you see the Goddess dances
On the day you were born.....
With love and light and magick to Simba,
Our friend and Spirit brother in Cornwall
From your friend the Kew Gardens Cats,
and Orange Ruffy

There's a black and white cat, who lives in Cornwall
Loving and laughing and having a ball
But we heard this week that Simba's been ill
And no more sitting, on a twin window sill
That I could just reach across the pond
Cause me and Simba, we have a bond
We came in from the cold, into the warm
My buddy Simba, well, there's cause for alarm
So I'm calling on Magick, I'm calling on Light
That my Buddy Simba will be more than alright
Tears fall on fur, here now in Queens
On my Orange Coat, and it all seems
So very unfair, that such a good guy
Could face down another thing-I ask why?
Because he's a friend, and he's a rare one,
My old friend Simba just made for fun
And oh all that energy, courage galore
Come on there Simba, let's give 'em what for!
So calling all angels,
Both here and beyond
Gear up those wings
And fly across the pond
Surround my bud
With blue and gold light
Cause I just want Simba
To be alright
I want to lean across my window sill
And see Simba on his, the other side of this hill
Come on Alex, my special Angel guide
Tigger and Buddie, Miss Mittens, you're certified
To have the most glow, and magick around
I've seen you work miracles here on the ground
Can you do me this favor? I promise I'll be good
I'm purring like mad, as loud as I could.
I am asking my friends, old, new, those yet to meet
To reach out with blue energy
And healing heat
Surround Simba with love, and lots of good wishes
I know the Tabbies of Trout-town will send many fishes
To swim round our friend, to do all that we can
For our Friend Simba, well, we're all great fans!
So I touch noses to Blizzard, watch a spark fly
Up through the air and across the sky
To weave into magick, and warm the night
From day into dusk, from grey into light
I purr just for you, my best Cornish Friend
For you, such a warrior-it's magick I send.
And I curl up and purr on the couch back
To worried to lay down and have a nap
But I can feel friends, unseen here today
Sending up comfort, with humans that pray
For a dear friend, and his family too
Know this our Simba, we're here for you!
From Ruffy's Mom:
When Natalie was ill, when she was just getting over breast cancer, I ordered a charm in honor of Queen T from Simba's mom. It took awhile to come, and we werent' sure where it went. Simba's mom send out another, and in fact, a double set to thank us for our wait and order! That meant so much to me, as these little charms adorn my charms I wear for my Natalie and Bella. The others are placed on the altar near Bella...and the other, close by the bed for Natalie in 'her room'. it was this simple kindness, along with many others that got us through a tough time when we were worried about our girls.
We wish we could offer more than magick and prayers to these kind and wonderful 'extended family' and a very very special little cat named Simba that means so much to us.
We, along with our furs, send many rays of sunshine, blue light, soft rain and love.
The Kew Garden's Cats pawrents.

It's been a difficult week for myself here. I don't understand humans-I will never understand them. As I sit here and mommy sips coffee and types for me, I gaze at her fondly. Mommy is sensitive...as am I.
I don't understand letting cats out. It's dangerous. And though a person may profess to love their cat very much, in most places, it's deadly unless the cat is in a 'safe' place...
I know there are arguments for it, but unless you have the ability to know that they will come to no harm, and you live somewhere they can be safe, well, it's heartbreaking when we read of one being perhaps poisoned, hit by a car...etc, etc, etc.
It breaks our hearts.
But on the other end of the spectrum, we have those cats and their people who just blow us away. Who make us smile, who make the purrs rise up in our
chests with thunder, who we send out waves and waves of blue cotton candy energy to...because they are the 'Saints' of the Cat world. They GO THE DISTANCE.
And in the process, something wonderous happens to them....they are blessed with a Special Feline Spirit.
Bumpurr was one of those Special Feline Spirits. He was born with something that can carry off a feline fast. And many cats don't survive it...
But Bumpurr survived and thrived for 5 spectacular years.
And he thrived because his Mom is one of those Saints I've talked about.
One of mommy's first memorires of her was of handling something regarding a pet food scare. She wasn't afraid of God or the Devil as my dad would say. She wasn't going to let anyone tell her which way was up. And she was going to make sure her Special Feline Spirit thrived.
And he Did.
Bumpurr is one of the most handsome cats I've ever seen. He and Finney look so much alike, but Bumpurr had a huge funny teddy bear look to him. He looked like a much more magickal Crookshanks, it was as if Garfield got his genes mixed up with an Ewok...he was stunning, handsome, and well, he was a Star. Respect the Star. You bet.
And his mom was the Ultimate Stage Mom. She cherished, she coddled, she loved and she flew in the face of every threat there ever was. She spat in the eye of HCM. She wasn't scared-she was simply going to make sure that Bumpurr didn't just live, or survive, but that he danced the light fantastic, and squeezed every pleasure a cat could have from life.
And we know that he did. We look at pictures of him, and we think 'Now, there is a CAT!'
And so, as I sit here and purr softly, bittersweet, I reach out to this human Saint. I say to her 'Be not too sad-for the most strong are tested-and you, dear, have passed the test. For while Special Feline Spirits are housed within this delightful form of Cat, it is not, truly, the Sum of who and what We ARE.
You, dear, did what was the most loving thing your Special Feline Spirit knew you would. You gave him blessed release to shed his wonderful and now no longer required form and leap up, up, up, and over....into Forever. For there is no 'death', as you so well know. There is only Love, and Love as such is unselfish, brave, and wears many colors...and somes in so many coats....
Special Feline Spirts...they often return, and there could be a time, you will be somewhere, and a soft purr will find you...and a pat reach out through cage bars or a fuzzy head brush your ankle and your eyes will meet feline eyes that hold all the wisdom of the Universe within, saying 'Welcome home, my Soul Friend-for you see, I never left you at all." And you will lift them into your arms, and whisper 'Yes'.
And so another will Come in From the Cold, and will take up the Spiral Dance, weaving with Feline Magick around your Soul.
Dear Human, Saintly Human, Gentle Bumpurrs Mother, I rise up on my hind legs and Salute you with Raised Paw. I thank you from my Species, for all you have done, and all you do. Do not grieve too much or too deeply...but be comforted in that Cat is Everlasting....and that Bumpurr is Legend. And Legends are as such, Immortal.
With Many Purrs, and a soft 'rrrpppt' of reassurance,

Wow, Daddy is putting a turkey in the oven! We are going to have it to eat later! I love turkey! (ok Tabbies, we had some very good fish last night!).
Everything is peaceful here. I was sitting on the couch back a bit ago, but now am sitting beside Daddy, 'assisting'him. It's good to have a nice turkey dinner to look forward to!
Things are peaceful here. Mommy is going to lay down for a bit, then do 'homework' and work on 'papers'. She had her professor return one to her and tell her she had to 'tweak' it some more. It upset Mommy because she has a headache and feels so overwhelmed with her schoolwork and papers and having to work at the same time. Daddy tells her to take it easy, but mommy says Daddy has never had to do work and college at the same time, both full time.
Daddy is making dinner. He's banging pots and pans. He just told me that the turkey will 'take awhile!' He and mommy had breakfast smells on them-they probably ate breakfast out! But we had something to eat here, so I can't complain.
I want to wish you all a nice warm day with a nap in the sun, good food in your dish and feeling well. I want to tell you all that you are much thought of by me. I want to let you all know that you are all in our purrs, and we think of you with warmth and fondness.
Today is a day of rebirth, no matter what 'religion' your people are. We, felines, respond to an energy that makes the earth go round and keeps us watching butterflies and smelling the warm spring soon to summer air.
And so I rise onto my hind legs and salute you all with power of the paw, those that are not feeling well with lovely crystal energy, and those of your people not well or struggling with deep purrs of wellness.
Life, my furfriends, is good.
Happy Easter, Blessed Ostara,
love and light,

This is going to be a good one-filled with good homes, lots of food and nice places to nap and play!
On Saturday...er 'Caterday' Daddy bought in a big Recliner chair that smelled familar to me. I sniffed it and sniffed it. But before I could jump up on it for a nap, Smokie had claimed it. So far, Smokie, CK and Princess have all napped on it.
I kept sniffing it. It smelled like the other cats I used to know...my 'cat cousins-Pat and Mike and Beauty.
I know that Pat the Buttercat is at the Bridge, but his smell is still on the recliner.
Daddy had hoped for a nap in it, but I guess he'll have to wait his turn.
Happy Spring all...and many many purrs to every fur and their person.
