Arrival Story:
I was born into a cold South Texas winter. It was wet, rainy, and down right miserable for anybody that didn't belong to a forever home. I found myself walking around a golf course; there was always people there and the neighborhood just North of the 17th hole seemed like a good a place as any to do some serious searching. I took a particular liking to the house on the corner. I was tiny when I made this decision, only about 5 or 6 weeks old. I noticed that only two humans lived there, and I was going to try my hardest to earn my way into their hearts. I made my first appearance one Monday night when it seemed particulary cold. The lady of the house was home a while before the man arrived. He got home quite late that night, after the sun had been down a while and the moon was dead high. I met the lady on their back porch where she liked to drink dark red liquied and scribble on paper. She picked me up and held me and kept me warm. She talked to me and told me I had to go away because John would never let her keep me. I tried my darndest to show her how cute I was and how much I would love her. I could tell this made her sad so I left for a while. When I came back she was gone so I found a nice comfy spot on the carpet placed by their front door and asked them to let me in. They didn't. Well, not too much later after John got home he brought out a little bowl of food and fresh water for me. I ate it, gratefully, and found a nice place to sleep in one of their containers that held flowers. I slept there everynight after that, until I moved to the back porch because the lady sat out with me almost everynight. John saw how much the lady, Michelle, loved me and on nights where it was especially rainy or cold he would let her let me in the house. I showed them how much of a good cat I was and I even made friends with the other cats in the house, Deuce, Shadow and Phoenix. Deuce didn't really like me at first, but Phoenix and Shadow and I were pals from the start. I even bathed Shadow and Phoenix. So, after incorporating myself slowly into this warm house, John fell in love with me, like I had him and he said I could stay forever. I love my new family and I consider myself very blessed.
