Hi kitties,

I've got a tall request for all you angels out there, I really needs a big favor. My cousin Mittens has gone missing. Mittens is 16/17 years old and she got out last night back in NH and she hasn't come home since. You can see her picture on Angel Dinah's page. Her mommy is worried sick, my aunt Lydia. They are the same age and She's had Mittens since they were both 3 years old! She's mommies youngest sister and she and Mittens are so close. Please angels, find Cousin Mittens and guide her home. She's a very old girl and they live in the way off country. Bring Mittens home kitties. Please Angels, please bring Mittens home.

Thanks kitties, Mittens always tries to break out, she just loves being outside. We just want her back safe and sound.

Oh River, we are purring like crazy for her. Please tell Mitten's Mom to go out at around 3:00 AM and go looking for her and call her. PLEASE have her set her alarm and walk around the neighborhood. Mittens might be close by but might be too frightened to come home. I ran away once, and Mom did this the second night I was gone. She was walking down a street one block away and suddenly she heard: 'meow' and I was walking next to her.
We'll purr and pray really hard that Mittens will be found.

Mietzi forgot to mention you have to go at such an early hour because there'll be no cars and humans and other noisy things to distract and scare the cat and your voice will carry farther. 2:30 is even better I think. Purr, purr, purr, megapurrs from us.

We will purr very hard for sweet Mittens to find her way home! Hopefully, she is not too far away and will be found. Have they left her litterbox outside so she can smell it?

Hugs and purrs,

Aunt Lydia just sent mommy a message, still no sign of Mittens and its awfully late and raining back in NH. We're hoping Mittens is hiding someplace dry right now and just doesn't want to come out and get wet. Mittens hates being uncomfortable. We're hoping she's super close by and just staying dry. Please come home Mittens!

River it's hardly raining. It was a calm rain and actually it was nice and cool today, not hot whatsoever like last week. So she's at least not going to be sweltering in the heat! That's one good thing going for her. Maybe because it's raining a little she's not coming out yet. Hopefully she'll say "hmmm, it's not too bad, I'll go home now".

Looking out for Mittens, scanning the horizon.
Tell your auntie that scared cats are most active at night. Tell her to look under bushes, in neighbor's yards under bushes, and to look under porches or tiny small spaces. Scared kitties will hole up in small spaces. Tell her to post a poster to let people know with her phone number. Tell her to alert the local shelters in case anyone finds Mittens.

We're all purring, and I'm looking around.

Oh kitties, I'm so scared. My Aunt Lydia is losing faith. She doesn't think Mittens is coming home this time. They live so far off in the country, there are so many critters out there. Mommy wants Aunt Lydia to stay positive but we don't know if we can get her to believe anymore. Mittens, please come home!!!

Oh no River, this is not good news! Please Mittens please go home!!! You know what? I don't know if you know Purrcy on here, he's on my mommy's website in the Living with IBD section. Anyways, his sisfur Jeepers ran away last fall or summer and was gone almost a month! Her mommy lost all hope and then one day HELLO JEEPIES!!! They took her to the vet to get checked out and all was fine. So it CAN happen River, just BELIEVE IT!

It's not good news but it's not hopeless. In 2008 my New Zealand friend Mr D
http://www.catster.com/cats/482329 went missing.
He was found after 6 months. Yes, that's right.6 months!
I can't stress enough how important it is to be actively looking for Mittens. She is not far from home.
She is very scared.
Are there other homes nearby?
Could she have gotten in someone's garage and then got stuck?
Knock on neighbor's doors. Please tell your Aunt Lydia not to give up hope and to keep looking!!

There is always hope that Mittens will find her way back home. Try not to despair River. I think the advice about looking at about 2:30 am is good. Over the years, my mom has found missing kitties at that time of night. Is Mittens micro-chipped? We've heard of kitties being reunited long after they've gone missing, because of micro-chips. Purring for Mittens and your aunt.

Love,
Tigger

We have a friend that we were talking to the other day and she told us a story about her kitty that was like what has happened to Mittens.

She sat on the ground around dusk in a spot where she could see a lot of space in her yard and just sat there and waited. She had some of her kitties favorite foods and treats. It took almost the entire night. But she finally spotted her. She didn't go after or try to catch her.

Not sure if you are walking around or calling her. But if you are, it may spook her.

Still purring and hoping that she finds her way back home.

XOXO

Still no sign of Mittens yet kitties, but I thinks I know why she left... Aunt Lydia adopted a kitten! I guess Mittens didn't want to share her mommy with a new kitty. Oh Mittens come home, Aunt Lydia has enough loves for you AND a baby kitten. Please come home Mittens!

Oh noes! Poor Mittens ran away from her. Believe me,I can totally understand. Who needs kittens??
I just know she will turn up, that's my birthday wish!
I did that in 2008 and Mr D came home the day before my birthday! (He had been missing 6 months, can you imagine? Are you guys pals? You should talk to him.
http://www.catster.com/cats/482329
His mom went to amazing lengths to find him.She dressed up in a Puss'n Boots and held up a big sign. My mom emailed a NZ TV
show and they invited her on TV! It was shortly after that
someone saw him and called him mom.It was one of the happiest
days of our catster lives when he came home.
Here you must see it on youtube:
