Arrival Story:
I got Smyrna from a friend I worked with as a kitten. She looked a siamese breed and her coat was the shade of sand. She had a little black mask on her face and her tail and legs were a tan color with black brown color on them. Down the back of her left leg it looked like someone dribbled black paint down it. She had the most beautiful blue eyes that reminded me of the crystal blue water in the Bahamas. The color of her coat reminded me of the sand on a beach so I named her Smyrna after New Smyrna Beach in Florida and the name just seemed to fit her. Smyrna passed in August of 2004 and she is still very much missed and loved by all her family. We will catch up with her at the rainbow bridge one day. Rest in peace Smyrna Ann and know you are still loved.

Bio:
In a human life Smyrna would have been a nurse. Whenever I was sick or had an operation she was right there first thing in the morning to make sure I was ok. Over the summer of 2004 I had thyroid cancer and I didn't know it then but Smyrna was very sick with fluid around her lungs and heart. The vet tried to drain it off but it didn't work and she waited till I was better by the end of Aug before she made it known to me that she was ill and wanted to go on to the Rainbow Bridge. She was gasping for air and jumped on the bed and with her eyes told me it was ok, she was ready and it was time. So I took her to the vet's office and I held her as the angel's came down and took her away to be with God. I miss my little nurse maid.....
