Arrival Story:
August 21st of 2009, friends and I found her living on the street with several other cats. She was tiny, skin and bones, crawling with fleas, and covered in mats, but had the sweetest, tiniest little chirp of a meow I've ever heard. We couldn't leave her, and took her and the other youngest kitten there home to get them vetted and adopted. Her full name is "Princess Tie Dye Pretty Pretty Ruffle Butt", but generally she only answers to the food rattling in her bowl, or if I trill for her. She is finally spayed and up to a healthy but svelt 7 pounds. She enjoys sleeping on my hair and has helped me pick my fiancee. She was originally up for adoption, but has found a permanent place with me.

Bio:
Tie Dye likes other cats, but is very fond of laps, pillows, blankets, cushions, windows with screens, bird feeders hung near windows with screens, empty book shelves, empty boxes, empty baskets, empty (or not) desk drawers, patches of sun, cooked chicken, mashed potatoes, olives in any form, giving cuddles, and rubbing or patting your face with her paws and/or nose. I've never met a more loving, affectionate cat.

There is a dog in this house. You read that right, Me, forced to live with a Dog! To make matters worse, the Dog thinks it has the right to MY human's bed... and she lets it! I love her, really I do, and not just because she keeps me pretty and feeds me, but I will Never understand why she fraternizes with something so far beneath herself.

But, as far as canids go, this one isn't so bad. I only had to dirty my paws and swat it once until it got that message that, No, I am NOT like the other cats. I do NOT want to be friends. I do NOT need a bath in dog drool, and I never will. So it stays out of my way, except for drinking from my bowl without asking, and sleeping on the bed with my Human. But, it's a dog; manners aren't to be expected.

My brother, on the other hand, likes the Dog. They cuddle now. Honestly. He also has the habit of sleeping on the Human's face at night, which I know she does not appreciate. She's quite fine with me returning the grooming treatment to the hair above her eyes, though. A very patient person, really. I am blessed in that respect.

The human also brought us A Dot to chase, and I'm quite good at catching it if I do say so myself. One day I'll figure out what the black tube in her hand has to do with The Dot, but first I must catch The Dot and keep it for more than a few moments. It's quite tricky, that Dot, and never stays still for very long. Tonight, maybe, I will be able to keep it out of the laundry basket. It hides very well in there where I can't reach it. For now, though, it's dinner time, and then I'll have to remind the human to clean the bathroom box. She almost forgot last night until I told her it's been used. She doesn't speak Cat, but she's fairly astute. I'm sure I can teach her by the end of the year, at least, so that I won't have to repeat myself nightly.

Tonight, I think, is chicken. Chicken or fish. Perhaps both.
