indoors Arrival Story: Teddy is a foster who will probably become a forever. One of my fosters died suddenly and when I brought him to the vet they showed me a small cat who was living there. He had been rescued during a TNR event and was obviously not feral. He had been badly burned somehow so he was brought to the vet and had numerous operations to remove his burned skin. He had healed nicely from the burns and operations but seemed to have some "hot spots"that he would lick continuously until they bled. The rescue group and the vet knew that I had some experience with skin problems and when a foster situation for Teddy fell through they asked if I would take him. I remembered those big beautiful eyes and couldn't refuse. When Teddy arrived he had a cone on that was bigger than he was. He couldn't even see his feet! While we tried a new diet and some meds I eventually got him into a smaller cone and then into baby clothes that would keep him from licking and let him play with the other cats. After finally finding a med that relieved his itching, Teddy is proud to be naked! Bio: I'm sorry to say we lost Teddy unexpectedly in October 2010. His poor immune system just went completely out of whack and he developed FIP. Within 24 hours of his diagnosis he got so ill I had to put him to sleep. But he had a wonderful life here with us and he was deeply loved. We all still miss him terribly.
