Who Makes Young Again Cat Food, & Where Is It Produced?

Young Again Cat Food reports that its products are formulated in consultation with independent vets and nutritionists who research new ideas and apply the latest technology to make quality food for their pets. It’s made in their company plant in Stacy, Minnesota.

Which Types of Pets is Young Again Cat Food Best Suited For?

Young Again has cat food formulated for different life stages.

For kittens and young adult cats, Young Again has Original 50/22 Cat food. For mature cats, there is the Mature Health cat food. They also have the Zero TruCarnivore formulated for cats of all ages, from kittens to adults

Which Types of Pets Might Do Better with a Different Brand?

Some senior cats with dental disease, missing teeth, or oral pain may have difficulty chewing dry food. Pets who prefer or require higher moisture diets can also benefit from incorporating wet food. This mix helps support adequate hydration, and they should receive a complete and balanced diet appropriate for their life stage and health status.

The Tiki Cat After Dark is a quality alternative for pets who need wet food in their diet. It is rich in animal-based protein and formulated with minimal carbohydrates. The recipes feature real meat and organ meats, which help support lean muscle mass while providing species-appropriate nutrition.

With its high moisture content, this food also helps support healthy hydration, which is especially important for urinary tract health. When fed as a complete and balanced formula appropriate for your cat’s life stage, it can provide essential nutrients to support overall health and well-being.

Discussion of the Primary Ingredients

Young Again sources their ingredients from countries like Switzerland, Finland, Germany, France, India, and Japan, but their meat is only sourced from the United States. Here are some of the ingredients in Young Again Cat Food products.

Hydrolyzed Pork

This is a highly digestible protein ingredient in cat food because hydrolysis breaks proteins into smaller fragments that are easier to absorb and may reduce the risk of triggering food sensitivities. When combined with other protein sources, it contributes to a complete amino acid profile that supports your cat's health.

Chicken Meal

The chicken sourced by Young Again for their cat food is reported by the manufacturer to come from USDA- or FDA-inspected facilities using human-edible source materials; however, once rendered into a meal, it is not considered human-grade. This chicken meal will have both meat and bone. The bone is helpful because it contains calcium that is necessary for normal bone maintenance and growth. It’s concentrated without water and contains higher protein per weight than fresh chicken.

Fish Oil

Fish oil in kitten food provides essential omega-3 fatty acids (such as EPA and DHA) that support healthy skin and a healthy fur coat in cats. With adequate omega-3 fatty acids in their diet, cats may have improved coat quality, including increased shine and softness.

Is Young Again Cat Food Too Dry for Cats?

As much as Young Again cat food is well formulated with nutrients and low carbohydrates, it’s not perfect. Water is an essential component, and Young Again Cat food is dry. Cats eating dry food must have consistent access to fresh water to maintain adequate hydration. Low moisture intake may increase the risk of concentrated urine, which can contribute to urinary issues such as lower urinary tract disease or obstruction in susceptible cats.
