How to Name Your Brother and Sister Cats

There’s a lot to consider when you’re naming a new pet. You want something you enjoy, something cool and creative, and a name that fits your kitty’s personality. Everyone has things they enjoy. Whether it’s a favorite television show, a movie series you can’t stay away from, or fictional characters from books, grabbing a name for a new pet from these sources is often a go-to. In your situation, however, you need two names. Not only that, but you also want to show that your pair is related. Here are a few tips on how to name your sibling pair to keep you from going overboard with stress from the process.

  • Take your time. The perfect names don’t just appear. Give yourself enough time to get to know your kitties and their personalities.
  • Don’t fear creativity. The new kitties in your life are yours. This means naming them is all up to you. Don’t fear your creativity. You may think others won’t understand the names you chose or the reason why, but honestly, it doesn’t matter.
  • Keep things fun. Cool sounds, fun names, and even catchy nicknames are all part of being a pet owner. Don’t take the fun out of it. Enjoy the process of naming your kitties.
