Challenges and Rewards

Office cat Whitman

What is the hardest part of your job?

The hardest part about our job is when we are presented with end of life care, diseases with no cure, and financial constraints.

What are some of the biggest challenges that your organization faces?

The biggest challenges are providing the best, up to date care at an affordable level.

What is the most rewarding part of doing what you guys do?

The most rewarding part of our job is when sick animals become better; and watching the joy on the owner’s faces. It’s also rewarding watching animals be excited to come in, when they love our staff and love staying over in our lodging area.

What are some of the accomplishments or specific animals that have made a big impact on you as a person or on your team?

There are too many animals to name that have made an impact on us, we couldn’t decide so we have a few names: Ally, Ozzy, Biscuit, Nico, Bruno, Daisy, Bella, Odin.. We could be here all day! Some have had amazing surgical outcomes, some have fought as hard as they could, some have ongoing treatments like Chemo and acupuncture, some have diseases they are currently fighting. All of them, including all animals that have come through our door have made an impact on us.

Future

What are Brook Farm Veterinary Center’s main goals for the future?

Our main goals are to continue to improve our skill set, serve from the heart, and guide people to make the best decisions without fear or guilt.

How can the general public help make your lives easier?

This is an interesting question. Remaining calm and forgetting about judgement. If your pet is sick, bring them in, call us, text us. Please don’t let them go sick because you are afraid we will question why they are this way. If finances are an issue please talk to us, we will make it work!
