Reviews of the 3 Best Leaps & Bounds Cat Toys

    1. Leaps & Bounds Wiggle Bug Cat Toy – Our Favorite

Leaps & Bounds Wiggle Bug Cat Toy

This battery-powered cat toy moves and vibrates to encourage active play and stimulate your cat’s natural hunting instincts. The toy requires two batteries to operate and is best used on flat floors or hard surfaces. It is made from a rubber material, so it is quite durable. The Wiggle Bug Cat Toy stands up to scratching, chewing, and pouncing. While it can’t be immersed in water, it is easily wiped off for cleaning.

Unfortunately, the Wiggle Bug does not move much, even on a flat floor. It mostly vibrates in place. It seems to be hit or miss for cats. Some love the toy, while others are scared of it. The batteries last a reasonable amount of time and only require changing every few months, as long as you are diligent about shutting the toy off after playtime is over. However, some customers report that the battery compartment requires an eyeglass repair screwdriver to open and that the batteries are difficult to change out.

    Pros
    • Interactive toy
    • Easy to clean
    • Batteries last a long time
    Cons
    • Batteries are hard to change
    • Some cats are scared of it
    • Doesn’t move much

    2. Leaps & Bounds Pounce & Play Bell of the Ball

Leaps & Bounds Pounce & Play Bell of the Ball

This bumpy-textured bell cat ball is a bell enclosed in a rubber cage frame. It comes in multiple colors to suit your preferences and bounces unpredictably to keep your cat guessing.

The Leaps & Bounds Pounce & Play Bell of the Ball is a great choice if you are looking for a simple but durable toy for your cat. The rubber outside stands up to extensive amounts of rough play, and the bouncing offers exercise and mental stimulation, as no two play sessions are the same. The price of this toy is reasonable too, so you won’t have to break the bank to get it.

The only complaint is that this ball gets lost easily. Since it bounces in any and every direction, it easily goes under furniture and hides in the most unexpected places.

    Pros
    Cons
    • Easy to lose
    • Can be noisy

    3. Leaps and Bounds Caterpillar Cat Teaser

The Leaps and Bounds Caterpillar Cat Teaser is a great way to get your cat some exercise via swatting and pouncing at this toy. Being a cat teaser, it does require you to play with your cat, so it is not a hands-off toy. But most cats seem to love teasers, especially squirmy ones like this caterpillar.

It’s made from non-toxic materials as well and is super affordable. The teaser is 33 inches long and has feathers on the end which will further entice your cat to play. However, over time, the feathers are likely to come off which may not make it as exciting for cats anymore.

    Pros
    • Encourages your cat to swat and pounce
    • Made from non-toxic materials
    • Squirmy motion and feathers entice play
    Cons
    • Feathers can come off over time

    What Other Users Are Saying

    • Walmart: “Leaps & Bounds toys are extremely expensive when ordering outside of the Petco website.”
    • Petco: “Leaps & Bounds electronic toys don’t stand up the way that they should, and the toys are cheaply made.”
    • As pet owners, we always double-check Amazon buyers’ reviews before buying something. You can read these by clicking here.

    Conclusion

Overall, we give Leaps & Bounds cat toys a 3.0/5-star rating. The Petco brand has innovative ideas for its toys and a wide range of products that are designed to encourage exercise and mentally stimulate your cat. Unfortunately, most of the products fall short in terms of durability and functionality. Customer reviews indicate that some toys are worth the money, while others aren’t, so it is important to shop carefully. The Leaps & Bounds interactive and electronic toys in particular seem to be lacking.
