The best bet for your aunt and your cousin is to go to a local shelter and talk with the staff there about what cats are available. It's best to have an open mind when you adopt a cat, even a purebred. Izzie is a Maine Coon mix and although he's goofy, he doesn't really have the playful, "dog-like" qualities a lot of them have. They can ask the shelter staff if they think a kitten, young adult or grown cat will fit in best in their home. Male or female? They can answer that too. Exotic cats like Bengals and Savannahs should not be adopted by people who don't know the breed and haven't researched it. You asked about a mouser and I suggested that if your aunt puts out rat poison in her home, even if the cat is indoors and eats a poisoned mouse, it can die as well. Best to have an exterminator come out if there's a real issue with vermin. Have your cousin and aunt visit shelters (go with them) and listen to what the staff has to say. They know their cats and can give good guidance.
