As his name suggests, Nubbins is a cat who scoots around with two standard-issue front paws and two short nubs for his back legs. Despite being born a little on the stumpy side, this is one cat who shows no signs of slowing down on the social media circuit, with his Instagram account being a trove of kitty-themed entertainment.

Read on to get up to speed with the Nubbstagram story.

Here’s Nubbins in a nutshell: This rescue lives in New York and was born with no back paws. He’s a fine-looking black-and-white chap who has also chosen to sport a natty little black splodge just above his nose. His full name is the grandiose Edison Nubbins.

A rescue story

According to his social media presence, Nubbins was “found in a drawer in an abandoned shed.” After he was rescued from that less-than-ideal predicament, his original saviors considered keeping him due to his playful and sweet nature. “He never acted like he had a disability,” explains his Instagram account. Now Nubs lives in his forever home with some houseguests who we’ll meet next.

Nubbins shares his forever home with a couple of other kitties. Their names are Charly and Gravy, and it’s said that they get along like the proverbial abode that has somehow mysteriously caught fire. Here’s a picture of Nubbins and Gravy — who’s a foster failure — showing their kitty love for each other.

And here’s Charly

Nothing says affection like a good old-fashioned foot sniffing, right?

King of the castle

Despite his physical disadvantage, Nubbins is clearly the lord and ruler of his domain’s kitty castle. Here you can catch him in video action warding off a dangerous sneak attack from one of his domestic serfs.

Hobbies for days

When it comes to his leisure time, Nubbins is said to be very dedicated to the esteemed feline pursuits of “cuddling and belly rubs.” Here he is prepped for the latter.

Sleepyhead

Nubs doesn’t play when it comes to his professional sleeping duties. This audacious pose speaks volumes as to the natural talent of this black-and-white kitty.

Hero in a half shell

Forget dressing up for Halloween — Nubbins is the sort of cat who will don a costume just for kicks. Here you can catch a peek of him in a full-on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tribute. Splinter beware.

Nubbins was all about celebrating National Cat Day back in October. According to Internet lore, he decided to honor this most prestigious of occasions by pulling off his trademark “nub slouch.” Novices should not attempt this at home.

Nubs also got into the swing of things for National Shark Week by dressing up in some tooth-tastic headgear. At this point you just know that if there’s a tenuous national day to honor, Nubbins is going to be all about his partying.

More sharking!

To wit, here he is continuing the Shark Week soiree. What a cat!
