The Tails of Two Cats: Book of Gabriel

Gabriel Was Neutered Today

At 6:15 this morning Alexis & I headed to St. Louis to the St. Louis Pet Clinic to drop the boys off at the vet & we picked them around 3pm. They have now been neutered. Both are extremely groggy at this point so the vet said to keep them in their crate until 8pm tonight. They are in the big one so they can be together.

It was truly cute when I picked them up, Gabriel instantly meowed at me and did everything he could to get to me. Romeo just looked up at me like, "Momma, I'm so groggy; hold me". When I got them home, and put their crate in my room with the door closed (so they could get some much needed rest) they both were climbing over each other trying to get to my hand so I could pet them. I just kept saying, "Momma's boys, I love you" over & over again. When they had finally had enough they both laid down again.

So now the worst part is over and I have them back here which makes me happy. I can't believe how attached I've gotten already as I missed them being here for the short time they were gone.

For their first Mom, Lisa, just thought I'd give you an update on their weight, etc. Romeo is weighing in at 11.9lbs and Gabriel is 10 1/2lbs. The vet said they are two of the most incredible looking cats he has ever seen so I had to tell them that their mom was a stray, etc. and he was sincerely impressed :) He also mentioned he hasn't seen such a toned & healthy cat as Romeo and that Gabriel was so soft he couldn't resist petting him LOL

Chapter I

Getting to know Gabriel has been a new experience every day. Being a former cat sitter I have always known that each cat has their own unique personality & I absolutely adore his. For almost being one year in age, he is very in touch with his kitty side. He'll chase my daughter and his toy down the hallway of our apartment, back and forth, until he's panting much like a dog. It's such a hoot to watch and there is no way you can resist giggling at the site of them.

He loves to talk to me when I'm doing something around the house. I talk back to him, and sometimes I wonder if he actually understands me as he'll always respond when I ask him a question. Now if only I could understand him.

His favorite place to sleep, so far, has been with me. Usually with his long, fluffy tail wrapped loosely around my neck. I don't mind because it certainly can keep you warm when there's a chill in the air. However, I think those days are becoming less and less as he's finding a new & more regular spot to rest his paws; with my daughter. They are growing so close it's adorable to watch them bond.

Gabriel and Romeo are both scheduled to be fixed a week from tomorrow. I'm anticipating the future and all it will bring - the memories made will be everything I wanted for her.
