Shorty Chicken Pants, Booncie, La Booncita, Babykins, Jinxy or any other silly name I think of at the moment.

Kitty Complexion:
sleepyvery active
not curiousvery curious
not vocalvery vocal

Quick Bio:
-mixed breed-cat rescue

August 19th 1999

Cream-Lynx Point

To be the center of attention and to be adored, on her terms, of course. And she loves to tear around the house when she is in her "jungle cat" mode. She also likes to "play" with her hermit crab brothers and sisters. I think she just sees "lunch".

When I cradle her on her back and give her "tisses", the vacuum cleaner, or when her feet are touched. She hates to be confined to a room or cat carrier. She's not real fond of car rides, either. She also really hates it when I sing.

Favorite Toy:
Q-Tips, cotton balls, milk caps, grocery bags, anything that is not a store-bought toy.

Favorite Nap Spot:
In the sunroom on the daybed. She also likes to lay on me when I am sleeping. In the wintertime she's like my own electric blanket.

Favorite Food:
She has allergies so I buy Prescription Diet Z/D dry. It's very expensive but worth it to keep her healthy. She also loves catnip but it has to be a particular brand.

She knows how to open sliding closet doors and also cabinets. For some reason, she likes munching on cobwebs. (Not really sure that is a "skill" though). She figured out that I was responsible for moving the laser pointer, so, she won't chase it any more!

Arrival Story:
I moved into an apartment with a friend and was ready to have a cat. I was actually at the Humane Society, trying to pick one out when my roommate called me on my cell phone to say that her sister picked up a stray cat who had been meowing loudly outside her house for a week or so. We went by her sister's house immediately, fell in love with her, and took her home. It's funny now to imagine Scarlett as a stray; I don't know how she made it. She's such a spoiled princess now!

Scarlett is very opinionated and sassy. If her behavior is corrected, she will "talk back". It's not hard to translate what she might be saying into English! But she also has a very sweet side that she only displays around me. She knows if I’m not feeling well and sticks by my side. She really likes to stick her tail in whatever I am eating, particularly ice cream.

A Day In The Life of Scarlett

I am NOT a happy girl...

My mom has taken me to the vet THREE TIMES in the past two weeks. The first time, I had a cold. I had to take that disgusting pink medicine. It took both my mom and my grandma to hold me down to take it. I wasn't going to make it easy for them!!

Then two days later, I started getting red and itchy sores on my head. They itched so bad, I couldn't resist scratching. The doctor told mom that I have feline dermatitis miliary, a.k.a severely irritated skin (why don't they just call it that, then?). All I know is that I am MISERABLE. I had to go back twice because the first time, the doctor gave my mommy these white pills to take and they didn't work. So then, I had to go back and see that terrible doctor again and she told mom that I had to take MORE of these white pills twice a day! But the worst part is I have to wear an e-collar. You know, one of those terrible plastic lampshade-looking things. Now, I can't scratch or lick myself and I keep bumping into things!! It is horrible! I am so depressed. My mommy feels terrible about it, I can tell. We both can't wait until I can take it off. Oh, woe is me!
