Meowma says...

She should have named me Jumper MOL! She thought for sure I was stuck up in a tree this morning cuz she went out on the back porch after hearing me yowl only to find me most of the way up a tree after the chickadees that fly up there! She walked over as close to the tree as she could get and tried to talk me down, but gave up when I wouldn't move. Finally after a few minutes of checking out what was below me, I backed down a ways, turned around and went forward a ways, then turned and backed all the way down and ran like a house afire to the porch where Meowma was and got lots of pets from her.

About a half hour later, she heard something up on the roof of the mobile home and went to check it out. There I was, yowling up a storm, walking back and forth across the roof. I had jumped from the porch rail to the top of the door on the porch and then hopped up on the roof of the porch onto the top of the house MOL! Meowma called me over, but I wouldn't let her pull me down, so she let me be and I eventually came back to the top of the door so she could lift me down. Maybe she should call me "Puffer Jumper" MOL!

I'm a little daredevil, yes I am MOL!

I messed up!

Yesterday Meowma and daddy were soooo mad at me! I know I'm not supposed to bother the birds at the feeder out in the garden and I've been pretty good about just running by it without looking, but yesterday I was out in the raspberry bushes that surround our yard and suddenly a squawk and cry went up around the trees next to it. All of a sudden I popped through the bushes with a grosbeak in my mouth and when Meowma went to chase me to let it go, I ran back through the bushes so she couldn't get me. Daddy was really mad at me! Meowma told him they can't do much about what I do when I'm not in the yard where they can see me and it's a normal thing for a fur to go after birds. Meowma finally won the argument, but daddy was still a bit upset with me.

In any case, I've become quite the little hunter and spend most of the day outside and come in at night before dark. Meowma says she doesn't trust me enough outside on my own at night yet. I always check in a few times a day to make sure Meowma knows I'm still here, but she won't let me stay outside at night at all. Ah well, at least I'm out most of the day when it's nice out.

I heard Meowma on the phone today and she made an appointment for ME to get "fixed"! What this means, I don't know, but I'm sure it's not going to be anything fun, that's for sure! She just told me I will not have the "urge" to caterwaul at the windows anymore, bringing in all the stray male cats from the area and driving her and daddy nutso! MOL!

In any case, please keep me in your purrs and purrayers for the sixth of July, cuz that's when I will be going in to get the deed done. The pawrents loaded me up into the jail cell yesterday afternoon and took me for my rabies shot so I could get this dastardly deed done. They've been waiting all spring to get it done and now it is so the call was made this morning to set up the appointment for my "fixing". I've been mysteriously quiet since the shot which has made the pawrents very happy and relieved. Why???? I just don't understand humans!

I will write more when Meowma has more time to get on here to type for me and my sisfurs and brofur.

Ohhhhh my daddy got sooo mad at me yesterday!!! We are not supposed to be up on the counters and guess where he found me??? Yup! Not just the counter, but in the sink, looking out the window and caterwauling my little heart out! He came in and stomped on the floor and when I didn't move, he took the squirt gun after me. Yikes! Boy did I get wet MOL!

This morning I gave Meowma a smelly surprise too and she is not at all pleased with me. I have been "leaving my mark" on a few walls in the house and this time I left it in the kitchen right behind her chair. Double Yikes as this is the corner I am "always" in. She couldn't believe I would do that till she saw me back up to the wall and when I saw I was caught, I ran to the cat room and used the box. She was scrubbing away at the wall when I came back in all innocent and she told me I needed to cool my jets and find somewhere to park myself for a while.

Now she has a mousetrap set right where I like to stand in the sink! I already made it snap once and wasn't too pleased cuz it scared me. I don't think I want to do it for a while again MOL! I've decided I will just go lay down for a while and do what Meowma says and cool the jets, whatever that means MOL! Meowma says she will be glad when I can go to the v*t to be fixed cuz then I will settle down. What does the v*t have to do with settling down I wonder?

Tata for now!

Meowma wrote a story for me!

Meowma is starting to write again and she has written one for me this time! Isn't that pawsome??? Here tis!

Can You Hear Me?

One night, not long ago, as I sat wide awake and not thinking of anything in particular, I heard, or thought I did, the soft voice of my grandfather in my ear. He was telling me to look at something. I looked and looked, all around the room and then it came to me. He wanted me to see in my mind's eye what he saw. I had never before done this, so it was a new experience with me.

As I took his hand (in my mind's eye), he walked me through the most beautiful countryside I had ever seen. I knew without a doubt where we were. I looked at my grandpa and was amazed at how youthful and strong he was. He then led me across a bridge and I was totally aware of all the animals that were there. I saw Chief, the first dog ever in my life, that was grandpa's baby, he came bounding over to greet me. Next came my old black cat, Blackie, with two good eyes and the most gorgeous black coat I've ever seen. He wound himself around my ankles as he used to do when I was little, till I reached down to pet him. I turned to look at my grandpa with tears in my eyes. He knew how happy I was, not only to see my old friends, but for him too.

We walked and walked, but I don't ever remember being tired. No words crossed our lips. Then it seemed like something changed. Not a bad change, just something a little out of sequence. Something made me turn and look at where we came from. There! Right next to that tall tree! I saw something moving and had to find out what it was. I walked quickly in the direction we had come from, knowing even if I was alone, nothing would hurt me. When I got to where I thought I had seen something moving, I looked around, but saw nothing. Being the curious person I am, I walked along the edge of the woods and then went further in. There among the tall trees and bushes, sat the most forlorn looking little cat I had ever seen. Something made me think it didn't belong here, among all the happy animals, yet. I slowly walked toward it and it threw itself at me, purring madly! I gently picked it up, to see a wafer thin ginger tabby with dirty white paws and bib, shivering with cold and happiness.

As I picked up the little cat, I realized I wasn't with my grandpa any longer or in heaven or Rainbow Bridge, for that matter. I was picking up a half grown ginger tabby who someone had dumped in front of our home and was literally starving to death. Granted, parts of this story are fictitious, but the little cat resides in my home with seven other girls and her name is Puff. She is now very much alive and well and has turned into a gorgeous young lady. If humans could make an effort to save and/or at least feed a starving animal or make sure it had a home, I truly believe we could make a difference. They offer unconditional love and are a wonderful support system.

I and my sisfurs, Daisy Mae and TweeKee, attended a Valentine's pawty that the Growing Up Catster group sponsored today and we all had a great time! I'll let the other two say more if they want to, but I did want to say that my Valentine, Spike, was so very well mannered and looked like such a gorgeous hunk in his tux! I had such fun! Lots of good food and bumper cars and KIK UFO's! We all had fun, but it was soooooooooo cool to go to a party with my crush and he's so sweet!!! I just can't wait to go to another pawty with him or even just to be with him. Meowma says she thinks I'm falling in love. I don't know what that is but my heart sure goes "pitty pat" every time he's around or even when he writes me notes! Ya think I might have the "love bug"? **sigh** Such a sweet and loving boy my Spikey is!
