I've been doing OK these last few months. The only big change was with Sarge going to the Rainbow Bridge. We didn't interact too much except at mealtime, but I can tell Lena really misses him and she takes her frustrations out on me. I try to be nice with her but she growls and bats me away whenever I get near.

I keep squeaking for attention from Daddy. Which would be OK except I don't like to be held and I won't let him trim my nails so it hurts when I jump on him. He tries to pet me but the best he can do is to pet me when I'm in easy reach. If I could just get over being held so my nails can get trimmed he'd be able to give me the attention I've been demanding. Oh why won't I let him hold me?

Without Sarge and the wet food, Daddy's been trying to slim me down some. Lena needs to eat too and sometimes she throws up in her food dish. Daddy's thinking about asking the vet about it. He thinks she just eats too fast sometimes. It wouldn't be so bad except she vomits in the same dish I have to eat out of! Ewwwww! Come on Lena, at least learn to turn your head!

I don't like to be held either Pepi, which was making nail trims a nightmare. But mom tried this, she sets me on the bathroom sink, and then can get an arm around me & nail trims are not quite so traumatic as they were when I was being held. And with the door closed, I cannot really run too far. Mom thinks that having a solid surface under me makes me less nervous. Maizy is to me like Lena is to you. I try really hard to be a good boy, but she just does not like me so much. But ya gotta try & let your dad pet you more, scritches are nice. You will feel better with shorter nails too buddy. your pal SMitty

I try to, Smitty, but when I get close to Lena she growls and if I don't back off she gives me the business. Daddy's wondering if I need another kitty to keep me busy. But Daddy is gone more because of his job so he doesn't want to have to split his attention 3 ways again. Plus he's still missing Sarge. So is Lena.

It's weird on how our families were alike. Lena and Maizy look alike and are alphas. We're both strays who found our home. Tigger is nice and friendly like Sarge was (and we hope that's the limit of how they are alike if you know what I mean).

Daddy will try that trick and see if he can trim my nails. I like to make biscuits on his arm at night which hurts him when my nails are sharp.
