Arrival Story:
While selling my wares at the local farmer's market, a man came along with 4 kittens attached to his sweater. He lived on a boat and feared the kittens were getting too active and might fall over board. He was looking for good homes and I was looking for a calico. Seemed like fate.
Bio:
Princess is currently recovering from a broken leg. Her femur and tibia were fractured in 3 places. The vet believes she will make an ok recovery since she is so young, but will most likely have arthritis in her leg as an adult. The prefered option was surgery but it would have cost over $1000! The second option was a cast which will cost about$350. The third option we don't like to think about. We opted for the cast and will have to keep her immobile for atleast 4 weeks. This will be quite a challenge! Any one with a few pointers would be greatly appreciated. We believe she was hit by car but there were no witnesses.
We'd very much like to thank our local "Cats Alive" foundation who are able to cover the cost of the vet bills and allow us to pay them back what we can, when we can. I encourage you all to donate to your own local pet charity, you never know when this will happen to you and your pet!
