Arrival Story:
Astrophe came to me when she was 4 months old. Her owner had to move and could not find a place that would allow him to bring his adored little kitten. He was friends with my niece, and she knew that this little cat was what we all needed to help heal the grief from losing our Conan. She moved in, fell in love with her two big sisters, and immediately became family....
Bio:
In January 2009- on her one year anniversary of living here- I noticed Astrophe licking the concrete floor in the basement, and then eating some litter. I knew that was called "pica" and was a sign of anaemia. Blood tests reveal a rare and often fatal anaemia called IMHA. We nearly lost her, but she is a very strong and determined girl, and she pulled through. She will be on steroids the rest of her life, and she has had 2 relapses, but she is still with us and is a very happy and loving kitty.
