Arrival Story:
Fourteen years ago, I lived in an apartment building. Two roomates downstairs from me had this kitten. One person had her, but the other was asthmatic and allergic to her. She also was left alone a lot and often escaped and raced up the stairs. One day she appeared in my apartment when one of the girls, leaving for school, stopped by to talk to me. After hearing how she was left a lot, I said I'd cat-sit her while they were gone and she eventually came to live with me.
Bio:
Shelby has an extensive biography, as she has had an interesting life. She is rather accident prone, which is how she is down to five lives left. She's had four close calls! When she was younger, I'd take her in my car on a leash to the park and traveling all over New England. When I started showing horses, she would come to the shows with me. And she used to go camping in our trailer with us. As her years have progressed, we have stopped traveling with her as much. She does not tolerate traveling anymore. But she now enjoys teasing her brothers, and being incredibly disturbed by any foster kitties I bring into the house.

Sadly, Shelby passed away On January 14th, 2007. She was 14 and 1/2 years old. She had a heart murmur and had begun shutting down long before I knew anything was wrong. She threw a clots to her legs which weakened her hind legs, and within 24 hours had thrown a second clot to her lungs. She began shutting down and I took her to be PTS. When I held her in my arms and told her what was going to happen, even though she couldn't lift her head, she purred and told me it was okay.
Good Bless you Shelby. Sebby still cries but he will be okay. You were the best cat ever, and There will always be a hole in my heart saved just for you.

Phew! All these cats! Mom does all this foster work and now we have five wild kittens and an expectant momma cat. I thought having two brothers was bad enough. Now I have a sister and I have to be a foster sister to all these kittens. Ugh, I'll just stay in my bedroom. Eventually they will all go away.
