This morning I called the Animal Shelter and was given the news about Micky. He has minor to major bite wounds. The most severe, on the right side of his head, is infected and draining. He has also tested positive for FIV. They told me that if his wounds heal, that he may be placed for adoption. If he is put up for adoption, he must be adopted as an INDOOR cat. If I had a larger home, I would certainly adopt Micky ... truth is I would probably adopt Micky and every other cat that needed a home.
Right now all I can do is hope and pray that his wounds heal and that he finds a loving home. If that doesn't happen, then I know one day I'll find Micky waiting with all the rest of my pets at the RAINBOW BRIDGE.

It's been a few days since we had our little friend Micky sleep on his swing in the garden. I figured he was spending time with another family who has been feeding him. However, today I found out different. When I went to take the garbage out, I heard Micky MEOW ... he came walking towards me looking a little thin. I said "Good Morning Buddy ... would you like some breakfast?" and walked up to where his food dish was, and filled his dish with his favorite food. When I returned from putting his food container away, I was startled by what I saw. The side of his head was wet, I'm not sure if it was from water, or if the obvious wounds he had were seeping. I watched him while he ate. He didn't appear to have any problems eating and I didn't want to upset him ... I figured it was best that he ate something. I knew Micky needed some medical attention, so I contacted the San Diego County Animal Shelter. I explained that Micky was a stray and that something had happened to him. They told me that if I could bring him in, they would have a doctor look at him and determine what is actually wrong with him ... treating his wounds, and giving him a complete examination. I went back outside to see how he was doing. He was trying to rub his head against the leg of one of the chairs, and everytime he got close to the area that was wet on his head he began to shake. I knew I had to do something and since I have had positive experiences with the Animal Shelter in the past, I felt comfortable taking him there. I knew that he would receive the treatment he needed, and that as a last resort if nothing could be done, he would be given a pass to 'THE RAINBOW BRIDGE'.
When I checked him into the Shelter, I asked if there was a number I could call to inquire about his condition. I won't know anything until Tuesday as the Shelter is closed on Sunday's and Monday's. They also asked if I was interested in adopting him ... depending on the results. If he is OK, I plan on adopting Micky. Unfortunatly he won't be able to live inside with Molly, Max and Minnie ... but he will receive fresh water, food and love as he has for the last couple of years.
I pray that Micky will be OK and that he will be coming back to what he knows as home soon.

Now who would have known that as soon as I let those humans pet me that they would begin to spoil me? I now have this reall soft fluffy rug to lay on when I snooze on the swing, along with my own personal scratching post. It's really cool ... has this big brush like thing that I can walk under that scratches my back. BOY OH BOY DOES THAT FEEL GOOD! They have also begun to give me vitamins with my food. I just love to hang out in their garden and MEOW at them when they walk past, or when they open the window and talk to me. They're really cool! I should have done this a long time ago! Life is GOOD!
