Arrival Story:
In Virginia, there is a website known as "Free-cycle". It is an internet website for people who would like to get rid of furniture and other odds and ends for free so that they will not add more waste to the landfields. I logged onto it one day and someone had posted unwanted kittens. My boyfriend and I had been making trips to local shelters but had not yet found the right kitten/cat for us. I told him about the posted kittens, we gave the person a call who had posted the ad, and went to see the kittens. Of the four kittens, there was one that was hiding under a car, hissing, spitting, and scared to death. He was a tiny little ball of white fluff, but when I picked him up he curled into my neck and started purring. He was all bark and no bite. I fell instantly in love and we brought him home with us. 1 year later he has stolen both of our hearts! We don't know what our lives would be without him!

My Long Week!

March 11th 2007 9:27 am   [link to this entry]

My Mama and Dad and everyone else that has ever met me (including my vet!) always tells me that I am the most interesting and curious cat they have ever met. They always tell my mom that I must be quite a handful to take care of. I don't know why they say that - I just want to know everything about everything - and I want to learn it close up and first-hand!!

I am a very particular cat - my stomach will only digest soft food - so the vet has me on soft cat food or baby food for my entire life - YUMMY for me!

That is what has caused all of my problems this week. My Mom and Dad bought me the yummiest treats in the world - I love them! On Wednesday morning, I decided to sneak away from Mom while she was getting ready for work and break into the bag and eat half of them! I didn't mean to eat half of the bag, but they were so yummy I couldnt stop myself.

Well, they irritated my stomach so bad, that by the time my mom got home from work, I had thrown up 12 times! I wasn't feeling very good at all! My mom took all of my food away from me and just gave me water, but that wouldnt settle on my stomach either. She called the vet and they told her to take all food and water away from me, but if i kept throwing up that I would have to go to the vet. Well at 12 am in the morning, I went to the ER and had to get a shot to stop me from throwing up. I didn't like that at all!!!

The next day, on doctors orders, my mom gave me some chicken baby food in the morning, but by the time she came home for lunch, I had thrown it all up again. I had to go to my regular vet to get another shot to calm my stomach down. I ate some food while my stomach was settled from the shot, and I held it down.

I am doing fine now. I love eating my chicken baby food - I am just starting back on my regular cat food today. I even got green bean baby food - that was my favorite!

Now... what kind of trouble can I get into this week.........

Signing off,
LM
