Arrival Story:
Late one night in August right before the full moon, I was outside later than my normal time. I go feed the feral cats around 10:30pm usually. Something made me wait to 11:30 instead.
When I walked outside I heard the strangest noise. Kinda a cross between a barn owl and a skeetch owl and a peacock mating call. I walked up and down the stairs from our house to the street and listened and couldn't figure it out. So I went in and got Mark, we stood there for about 5 minutes when all of a sudden the sound just made the hairs on my neck stand up. I yelled "It's a kitten honey, it's a kitten". So I ran into the house to get the piglight ( large flash light). Ran down the stairs Mark went right and I went left straight in the middle of the road and walked about 100 feet or so from the bottom of our stairs. There she was a little black spot, screaming her bloody head off. I picked her up and stuck her in my jacket. Two days from when we found her was going to be Marks 50th birthday and we were supposed to be out of town. It was also a full Moon night.
I really think the higher powers sent "Luna" to us. She is doing great. Took her to the vet 2 days after we found her and she checked out fine. I had to bottle feed her and she kept me busy almost all day. She thinks I am her Mommycat. I was really worried that there had to be a Mom and maybe more kittens too. So the next morning we went out scouting the normal feral cat places.
We did find a Mommy cat and 5 kittens but Luna is not hers. So to this day we have no idea how or why she was where we found her and who her Mom is.
Bio:
I do know who her Daddy is but her Mom is still a mystery. It's very obvious that she is a NFC mix.
I think that her Mom is the missing kitten from Willoughby and Bills litter. I saw her for a few days after we found Luna but she has disappeared now and the Dad is the only one left to catch. Although I believe he has a owner. But they haven't had him neutered and he has fathered 6 litters that I know of. I have 14 cats because of him so I am going to try and catch him and get him fixed and release him back out in the neighborhood.
Luna is the best kitten ever of course I am parshial.
