Arrival Story:
Baby Su was found by my husband one morning, blue-eyed and barely weaned, wandering on our desert land, right before the snows came. There was no question! She was scooped up and installed in our "kitten cabin" until she could be seen by our doctor. She spent some time there, with various of her older "brothers" or "sisters", as we had a very sick cat at the time and did not want to stress her with a rambunctious kitten. When our beloved Moti went over the Bridge (due to Chronic Renal Failure), we brought Suha in. She came in swinging! and alienated herself from everycat here. Slowly, she has become integrated into the family, though her semi-feral wildness remains a trait. UPDATE! At three, Baby Su has "sweetened up" considerably. She's a purring lap-monster who loves being close to me, and she'll follow me all over the house until I sit down so she can launch herself up onto my lap and knead and purr. She generally joins in the nightly TV-viewing, and when I'm extremely lucky, she'll join the nightly catpile on "the Hot Rock for cats" (that would be moi!) She loves Nikki T, Samuda, and Calo, and enjoys playing with Tarifa. She and Rani are most def NOT two tuxes in a pod; there are signs that Sishya is thawing toward this "upstart kitten", though! ;)

I can't believe I'm --ulp!-- NINE today. Meowm says I'll always be her kitten, and I'm still her feral lapcat. Not much excitement going on around here, but hey, no news is good news, right? I'm chillaxin' on my cat tree, keeping a close watch on the patio -- there have been HUMMINGBIRDS in there lately and I don't want to miss a wingbeat!

Today I'm helping Meowm make beds. It's a lot of fun but I am keeping a close, green-golden watch on her to make sure she's doin' it right. You can't let anything get past you, especially where these hoomanz are concerned. Good help is, as we all know, almost impossible to find these days. ^^

Yes, it's my (dare I say?!) FOURTH birthday, people. Little did I know when I found myself wandering alone under a BIG juniper in the BIG desert just days before a BIG snow, that I'd get scooped up by a towering two-legged creature, whisked into a little cabin, brought into a big, beautiful house with lots of other CATS, and eventually have to make a transition from that beautiful house to this one! Some of my big brothers and sisters have gone on ahead "over the Rainbow Bridge" (wherever THAT is...) and there have been some new faces in this past year and a bit. There's a big, black-and-gold, foofy cat now who runs around chasing us and who uses some kind of off-color cat language to us. What's that all about? I wonder. But we're all determined to get along, and this being my birthday and all, maybe we can all have another catnip toy and DaBird party and get a little better acquainted.
