Arrival Story:
We adopted Joey from our local Petco that allows an adoption agency, FOSMAS, use their facilities to help adopt their shelter cats. We had originally fostered Joey and his brother Charlie for 1 week to see if it would work out with our other cat, Merlin. Charlie and Merlin were not a good match, so Charlie had to go back to the shelter, but Joey and Merlin were both very civil towards each other. It was then that we found out Merlin has cancer, so we returned Joey and asked them to hold him for a few weeks till we saw how Merlin was doing. My daughter, Melissa, whom Joey was intended for was hysterical, so I knew that Joey would soon be returning to our household. 1 week later we got our vets approval and adopted Joey. We knew we made the right decision!

Bio:
Poor Joey and his brother, Charlie, were adopted out as kittens from FOSMAS to an elderly lady and had to be returned after living with her for over 6 months. The woman's rent was going to be raised $300 a month if she kept them, but she couldn't afford it. Thankfully, we found Joey after he was returned only 1 week previous. His brother Charlie was adopted the same day we adopted Joey, so it was a very joyous day for the 2 brothers:)

This is soooo exciting....I'm on Catster!!!! Well, I just got a new home a few weeks ago with a really nice family. It's just a mom and daughter, so there isn't too much crazy stuff going on all at once. My new mommy is actually the daughter....everyday for a whole week she saw me in the cage at Petco and I would come up to the wall and give her fingers a kiss. Believe me...I made it clear I wanted her to take me home! I didn't like the other people that came to see me, they just weren't as understanding of my feelings. My new mommy is perfect...when I want to be held she holds me, when I want to be pet she pets me, and when I want to be alone (which is usually never) she leaves me alone.

At my new home I have a brother, Merlin. Merlin sadly has lymphoma and I'm really worried. I think Merlin is so cool! I love to just watch him sleep or go to the bathroom, he's just so cool to watch!

Luckily, I was in my new home in time for my 1st birthday. My mommy and mommy # 2 put together a gift basket for me full of awesome stuff! The best thing I got was this teaser that had feathers on the end of it that twirls like a bird. I play with it for at least 2 hours a day and I sleep with it.

Yesterday I discovered quite a few things. The first thing I discovered was a lollipop call a dumdum. I luved playing with it on the floor and I carried it everywhere throughout my 2 story home. Eventually my mommy saw me with it and took it away, she said I could choke on it and that wouldn't be good. The second thing I discoverd were egg shells. My mommy was making double chocolate chip muffins (YUM) in the kitchen last night and had left the empty egg shells in the sink. Well, last night when she was in bed I trotted down stairs and jumped up on the kitchen counter. At first I took one shell and put it on the floor....I was so nice to the egg shell I didn't even brake it. After I put it on the floor I jumped back up on the counter and got a second egg shell, this time to show my love and appreciation for my mommy I brought the shell upstairs and gave it to her. At first she thought it was a bottle cap, but then she realized I brought her an even more special gift. I thought she'd love it, but she said eggs aren't meant for kitties and that I shouldn't be getting in the sink. At least she did say she appreciated my hard work. O well, maybe tonight I'll bring her a fabric softner sheet. Wish me luck!
