Coloration: Red Tabby
Likes: Concurrent fur-brushing and face-kissing. Sleeping in a patch of sunshine on his back like an otter. Watching the toilet flush. Attacking the sheets as his mommy tries to make the bed. Water! Stalking, pouncing, and killing paper products.
Pet-Peeves: Claw trims. Going to the vet...major meltdown!! Girlcats who refuse to join in on the pounce-and-chase game. Thunderstorms. When someone knocks on the front door--he's off like a shot!
Favorite Toy: His brother James Tailer. James loves to be chased! Also, ping-pong balls, the plastic thingy that pops out when I open a milk carton, a certain pair of cream-colored wool socks that he carries around in his mouth, and dry spaghetti strands.
Favorite Nap Spot: The bathroom sink; the top of the refrigerator. Pretty much anywhere as long as he can be upside-down; patches of sunshine are highly prized.
Favorite Food: Kitty Kaviar! Sometimes he has to chase the flakes around, though, because when he breathes on them, they scatter!
Skills: Howling; fetching; turning a roll of toilet paper into snow; nailing an airborne toy five feet in the air with uncanny accuracy; telling time.
Dwells:
indoors
Arrival Story: My (now ex-)husband and I had gone to the county shelter to adopt a kitty. Based on my past experiences with red and orange kitties, I specifically wanted a red or orange boy. We looked at every kitty in the shelter, and then looked through their photos of kitties in foster families, and didn't find one single orange cat! Considering how many cats they had, I was really surprised that not one of them was orange. We had just decided to come back the following weekend when one of the volunteers told us that the rescue van that picks up strays had just pulled up with an orange kitten. We waited 15 minutes or so while they examined him and gave him his shots, and then they let us hold him. The poor tiny thing was terrified, and the first thing he did was bite my hand--hard. He was about 7 weeks old, and overwhelmed by everything that was happening. We applied immediately to adopt him. We had to wait a week to see if his owner claimed him, but lucky for us, no one came for him. My husband named him O'Malley, after O'Malley The Alley Cat in the movie The Aristocats. He was a very aggressive and distrustful little furball for a while, but he learned quickly to love us, and he's turned out to be the sweetest, gentlest, kindest, most darling cat I've ever known. He's truly the love of my life.
Bio: O'Malley is freakishly intelligent. He definitely has a logical mind; you can see the wheels turning while he figures out how to do something. He loves to zoom around the house at top speed, howling at the top of his lungs. He used to show his affection by chomping me, but he has become much less fangy with time. He loves his mommy dearly, and lays next to me upside-down and purrs madly while I stroke his tummy. He also loves water. When he was just a few months old, he discovered that water came out of the faucet in the bathroom sink, and would stick his paws and his head under it and get soaked. Pretty soon he was in the kitchen sink, and then the bathtub! If I put a couple of inches of water in the tub, he'll jump in and splash around (see photo). He also loves to have his face kissed. He closes his eyes, juts out his chin, and rumbles like a mad cat when he gets kisses. He can tell time, and will always be sitting in the window waiting for me to drive up behind the house after work. He goes wacky for catnip and the laser mouse. He wakes me up in the morning by licking my face and "combing" my hair with his claws. He's "Mr. Personality" and a fabulous kitty.

Thank mew to everycat who left prezzies on my page (39 rosies, stars, and gifties and hundreds of treaties!!), sent meowy nice pawmails, and asked to be my furiend! I had SO much fun being Cat of the Day. I got my way all day long, 'cause I reminded my brofurs and sisfurs that it was MY day! I was first to be fed, got to do a catloaf on the very top level of the cat tree, and I got the super-fuzzy blankie on the bed. Mom smooched me even more than usual (and that's a LOT of smooches).
I could win a 2010 Bad Cat Calendar if I'm chosen at random! Here's my entry:

In 2010, I purromise to let my mom use at least half of the t.p., paper towels, and other paper products before ripping them to shreds. That’s fair, isn’t it?
(If I win the calendar for my mom, I'll get to shred what's left of it around June...MOL!!)
Thank mew so much to everycat who has sent me rosettes, special gifties, comments, furiend requests, and pawmails to help me celebrate being named The 2009 Sitting Cat!!! I've had such fun being a celebrity, and I hope all the other winning kitties have, too. My page looks so nice with all of my prezzies on it. I sure am happy that you are all my furiends.
